Hi, thanks for adding me to the group. I'm hoping to find answers to some of the "burning questions " that I'd really like to learn about.
I'm a chain vaper now but waaay better than chain smoking!
I found you here from a link at Battery Mooch's YouTube channel.
I got started while visiting my 2 daughters that live in the Austin TX area. (I live in Maine ) my oldest daughter Vapes and I tried it, nyah, I want my cigs .Well I stayed at my youngest daughter's house, a non smoker, and had to keep asking her to pick me up some cigs. It really stood out how much I smoked and got that "dirty smoker " feel and she offered to get me a set up. I hardly smoke at all now and it makes me sick to my stomach when I have a cig .
We went to a small vape shop in Bastrop TX and got set up with a personalized mod.
A single battery Battlestar Mini. She worked my way around the basic adjusting and I got great help. Problem was she didn't have a matching tank and lent me one of hers. It ended up not being a problem at all. It's an Aspire Nautilus with the nice sleek metal extending point that fits and felt enough like a cig that it was really easy to kick the cigs (Yay! WooHoo! pumping Happy!). The problem was that the order for the tank didn't come back in time for me to pick it up. I had a plane to catch.
So, right off I learned about interchanging parts and pieces. Fun!
I've been vaping since end of September 2018, less than 4 months.
'Course I broke the glass, tell me you never have... So, I borrowed a Joytech Pro C4 tank with 4 coils in the atomizer. Power pack, had to crank the setting up to 35-40 when usually 14. Battery was overheating wicked bad. So again, here I am like a curious cat.
Yeah, I'm a talker. .. but really glad I can find info here

Hi, mka. Welcome. And congrats on your journey.

After some clearo's from Halo, I got me a Naughty and a Naughty Mini. I traded away the bigger one, and 3 years later, still use the Mini daily. Hey, it does the job for me. I have 2 other tanks that share the same coils.
You can get replacement glass for the Nautilus in many places. (and I'll guess you know this, or that's an old pic.)
I don't have any experience with the Pro C4. I tried some other sub-ohm tanks, but I'm happy with the Mini at 13 watts.
Look around here. There are lots of tanks, even more opinions about them. I'm sure any 3 or more year vaper has a drawer full of old mods, tanks, coils. It's part of the learning process. I have donated my unused gear to friends and acquaintances that need to stop smoking.
Have fun, enjoy this forum, and congrats on 4 months!

Howdy and welcome :)

Glass is pretty easy to replace and not particularly expensive. You just take the mod apart and put the new glass in.

The nautilus is a MTL device. It doesn’t surprise me that a DL device wouldn’t work the way you want.

If you want a new MTL atty with cartridge coils the innokin zenith with .8ohm coils is very well thought of around here. If you want to take the plunge into RTAs (more fiddling, more control, less money long term) then the berserker 1.5 mini would likely work well for you. If you go with the RTA you’ll need wire, something to wrap it around, and something to cut it with. Also there’s cotton, but really any cotton ball will work fine.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on kicking the cancer stix. Good choice for your first mod, the battlestar mini. I’m a big fan of Smoant mods, they make really solid mods that perform excellent. I have the Battlestar but not the mini along with several other Smoants and a few other brands. Looks like I’m a talker also. If your ever bored we can talk back and forth and not bother listening to each other. Because let’s be honest, who cares what anyone else has to say. Joking of course but on a serious note I have never broken the glass on any of my tanks. So now I’m guaranteed to break one in the next 24 hours for saying that but it’s ok; I have backups.

Congratulations on 4 months vaping, that's great. Backups are good.

I am a clumsy vaper, so if I find a tank I really like that is glass, I order spares from Fasttech which is a China vendor, so they are usually cheap, although they can take a while to arrive so this is more for "long term" care and feeding of my tank. If I can find a plastic or Ultem replacement, so much the better in my opinion (although I don't tend to vape plastic melting juices.)

Welcome to ECF and good luck on your continued vaping journey!

I knew there was a reason I felt a special kinship with you. LOL.

I raise a glass--- A PLASTIC ONE.

Anna

Pods for me these days. After a drop-see the worst damage thus far was solved with an emory board filing off a rough spot on the duck bill tip.

Had I stayed with modular stuff I'd probably have plastic tanks by now.
