Just a couple hours ago in addition to all the other fires going on here the city of Los Alamos has been ordered to evacuate. This is the home of the Los Alamos National Lab. I myself in the area of Albuquerque that I live am not in danger but in the valley and the foothill areas it would be a catastrophe. Now I am angry...Why on earth are they still allowing fireworks to be sold here in town!!????!! all i can say is please join me in prayers for all the evacuees including the large number of livestock, horses, and pets.just to give an example as to how fast the fires can travel one down south in Riudoso NM in only 30 minutes burned 8 homes TO THE GROUND! I don't know but alot of folks and the firefighters too can use alot of prayer and for some rain too.Thank you everyone for listening and letting me sound off here God bless you all!

The only blue county in Texas!
My thoughts for the people in New Mexico and the people in Az dealing with the Monument Fire... Sierra Vista is as close to a hometown as I have and it's sad to see all of the old party spots burned to the ground. : ( I can't believe they are still selling fireworks there Grandmakittycat! How ridiculous!

My sister lives in Santa Fe. This is a view from her back porch. No evacuation order so far. By the way, my sister is now 37 days smoke free!

Really near the mexican border.
Just heard from cousin Joni, in Santa Fe, this fire in Los Alamos has burned an incredible 43,000+ acres in less than 19 hours. 10 years ago the dept of land management did a controlled burn up there in Los Alamos on one of the most windy days of the year and it took almost 2 weeks for that fire to burn as much acreage as this one has already. Please pray for everyone in New Mexico, Azrizona and all the states experiencing strange weather this year. I have family that work in the labs. Please Please ask your higher power, if you have one, or the universe to send some cooler weather and well some rain (just enough, but not too much _ that would cause flooding). I always ask for things to be done in a gentle way.
thank alot, a now permanent resident of NM.

Sue,
I used to think it was only when I lived in San Diego that I had to worry about the wildfires.........this is a crazy dry summer even here in Texas. I noticed when driving home today my county has banned all fireworks, charcoal grills AND.....cigarette butts.

One of my best friend's sons just graduated from the fire academy. I sent him a card & some cash, & got a thank you note. He told me that he was sorry it took so long for him to get back to me.............he'd been out fighting the wildfires here in the Houston suburbs.

Godspeed to the men & women out there working day and night to tackle these blazes!

I'm praying that none of my neighbors does anything stupid this 4th of July.

Something I really did'nt know that there can be thunder, clouds and lightning but NO rain! Its called a dry storm;even the few that do have rain the rain dissipates before it ever hits the ground sucked into the air because of the extremely low humidity! Learn something new every day just wish it was'nt the case right now.Praying for real rain real soon!

I always learn something from you! (I want you to precept me!!!!)
We had one day of rain last week........all summer.......my cacti & aloe even started to dry up (We don't normally water those). Last year my aloe got so wet it started to mold.
Yes, mother nature..........we need rain!

A quote from my sister's Facebook page:
"There are no evacuation orders for Santa Fe, according to the map, the fire didn't move much toward us yesterday. The wind direction is keeping most of the smoke away. There is ash fallout, even on the bed pillows, but for the most part we are fortunate with the wind direction. Thanks for the prayers."
