I'm just letting it harden now. It's made from white Magic Sculpt.

Specs:

two RCR123A's (750 mAH each) for 6v
1 slightly buried hidden bright white LED (lilypad with built in resistor for maximum laziness)
Ergonomic. fits in your hand nice, button falls under right hand thumb.
twin 801 atomizer connectors.
lilypad mini-momentary switch.
Completley Sealed.

I just need to wait about two hours for it to finish curing, do final sanding and shaping, and make the battery lid. I've already done some careful test hits. It hits like a truck.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm a fan of twin-atty designs. And interesting to see white for a change !

You've buried the battery holder/contacts inside already or will drill out later?

I made the box yesteryday and let it harden overnight. I wrapped two batteries in plastic, then wrapped a thin layer of cardboard (from a video game retail box) around them, then shaped my magic sculpt around that. The side you can't see in the pic is open. I then cut a flashlight case spring in half, and used one for positive and one for negative, and used more magic sculpt to fasten them to the "roof" of box so the battery lid on the bottom could be a simple strip to finish the series connection. I drilled two small holes in the top to run the positive and negative wires through, then did all the soldering on the top of the box, and formed magic sculpt around it. The part hardening now is the sculpt around the 801 connectors I made from phone jacks. That's why if you look close, the two atomizers are taped together. They are ensuring that the connectors end up in just the right place as the final hardening happens.

That's one of the great things about magic sculpt. You can make something a little at a time. That's a quick camera phone pic. Once I'm "done done", I'll do high rez pics and a short video with vapor production.

Neat! But why the twin atty's?

Honestly? So I can be lazy and not have to screw with resistors. With the 6v going to two atty's, I'm splitting the voltage between them. So insane vapor production, 2.2ml of juice capacity, and less voltage hit per atty. However, because of how it's wired, I can do single atomizer 6v if I want as simply as unscrewing one atomizer.

loving it Zofryer !!!! Does the magic sculp stay pliable in the hands or does it eventually dry solid? A conforming hand mod would be sickkkkk !!!! Twin Atty Design -- Me thinking I need to build one !!!!

It hardens like stone that gives. Think PVC. I made this one thicker than it probably needed to be because I can always sand it down once it's cured with regular woodworking tools.

that is really really sweet zo! I remember seeing a mod made out of I think plato a while back (several months ago maybe?)

If you don't care what it looks like, you should really try and keep enough room for (2) 18650 side by side .... that thing would last for days!

either way, beautiful bud!!!

Thanks man. Thing is, I got this kickass PV called a "Prodigy". Maybe you've heard of it. And it uses these really great protected batteries, and I already have chargers for them at work, in my car, and at home. So it made the most sense to use the same batteries. Also, I should get 3-4 hours worst case, and I like a smaller form factor. I can tuck this in a shirt pocket. It's not obvious from the pic.

You should, it does what higher voltage aims to do, but better, imo.

I have an idea, sell this in a kit: that is partly made but has a pack of extra sculpt that is used to create a personalised grip :)

that is an awesome idea kinabloo ... although I likely won't ... Still would be cool for a *How-To* on how to do it for devices ....

so ... wanna do it to your PD to see how it looks ?!?!?! :D

If you can take out one atty, then they are in parallele, each with 6v, and probably very nearly as much current each as one would draw. Not wonder it's 'smoking'
