Does the nicotine level cause throat burn? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. However, the juices consist of a combination of VG/PG, flavoring and nicotine. VG = Vegetable Glycerin, PG = Propylene Glycol. Some people like high VG like 70/30 vg/pg ratio. that means 70% VG and 30% PG. some like it 50/50 and some people like high PG. I personally like very high VG, current daily juice is a sweet tobacco 90/10.

For the throat burn, have a variable voltage device. turn the volts down for less intensity and do mouth-hits ie, first inhale the vapor into your mouth, remove device from mouth, inhale the vapor from mouth to lungs, then exhale. (throat hit is directly from device into lungs).

I started with ego twists and vision spinners. Yes, CE4s and they are garbage (IMHO, and sounds like others feel the same. they leak like crazy!). Lots of good recommendations here. You won't go wrong with a couple of Itaste VV3s (get 2 batteries for each of you so one can charge one while you use the other; 3 might work if only one backup will suffice for both of you. Plus VV3s and MVPs can work as a "pass through"; you can vape while the battery is connected to a USB charger). My preference is EVODs for "tanks", bottom coil (the heating element is at the bottom of the tank), can get replacement atomizers. Once you have some experience, they are easy to rebuild (but let's not go there yet!!!). The Iclears recommended can work for you too. You can purchase replacement atomizers for them too. I use mostly VV3s and MVPs; I still have some egos I use for out and about, and a few more advanced devices for around the house.

I agree with the suggestion to compile a list and post it. Lots of experienced people here who will help you decide on what to buy. Also suggestions on where to buy. My recommendations are simply what has/does work for me.

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking. You will enjoy many health benefits and it's a fun journey. I find vapers are eager to help each other so you will also make many new friends.

Good luck!

If you want to experiment with adjustable airflow, search for Kanger Aerotank AND atomizer head for aerotank.

(atomizer head is a disposable and replaceable part which houses the coil(s) and wicking material for the tank)

even the iClear 30 has them. normally they last from 1-4 weeks... depending on how much one vapes and what type of juice.

I've seen people come in a local vape shop and wanting to buy whole new tanks, when all they need is a new atomizer.

How do you tell when the atomizer is bad? nasty taste and/or doesn't create vapor. all it takes on a dual coil atomizer is just one coil to go south and the atomizer is done, because when a coil pops, the resistance on the coil pretty much doubles, vapor production goes bad, even if you were to raise the voltage.

whatever you choose, buy some spare atomizers, and make sure you verify they fit your tank.

Thank you, I wrote that down so I won't forget how to tell if they go bad. I do have the Kanger aerotank bookmarked so I can buy later to experiment with airflow.

Thank you r77! I am now off to look up what dry hits are lol. I plan on taking it nice and slow I guess I am just anxious to get started. I am getting tired of cigarettes and hate that my kids tell me I reek when they give me a hug.

I'm loving the look of the innokin mvp2 but I cant seem to find a kit for the itaste vv3. It might be me though, got almost no sleep last night so I'm tired and may not be looking in the right place.
the vv3 kit is not worth it.
i recommend Driving down the cost of vaping! - 101 Vape for the itaste vv3.
the clearos in the kit aren't really that good.

i really like my mvp2 as well and you can girly it up with ecig skins, electorinc cigarette skins, ecig wrap, ecig wraps, mod wraps, ecig wraps if you like.
i like not having to charge it all the time. i get a good two and half days off one charge.
you get more bang for your buck.

Can I ask another question, what is the difference between bottom coil, top coil, and dual coil?

coil itself refers to a short piece of resistance wire, normally wrapped to look like a small spring.

when electrical current flows through it, it heats up. (just like a filament inside a incandescent light bulb)

when it heats up, the juice on the wicking material next to the coil turns into vapor.

bottom coil is where the liquid reservoir sits above the coils when the device is upright.
top coil is where the liquid reservoir is below the coils.

dual coil means there are two separate coils heating up at the same time, ie. more surface area, more vapor.

I clears are top coil. They have a coil at the top of the tanks with wicks that hang down . Protanks are bottom coil- the coil is at the bottom of the tank and have small wicks, you usually but not always fill them from the bottom. People have diff preferences. I find the bottom coils very cool and prefer the top type.. Best to try both first and then decide which you like best.

Thank you so much everyone for all of the advice and explanations, it has helped me greatly. I have one last question before I post the final list of stuff I will buying to start off with. What is the difference between these two heads, been trying to find the explanation somewhere and cant seem to find it. Head 1: Atomizer Head for Innokin iClear 30S 'Type S' and Head 2: Atomizer head for Innokin iClear 30 Tank
Obviously the 2nd one has wicks, but other than that Im not sure.

Thank you again!

Thank you again!

Ok so for starters this is what I am getting, hope I have it all:
Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0 - 101 Vape (getting 3, one for me, hubs, and an extra so that we can always have one on hand that is charged.)
Innokin iClear 30 Dual Coil Tank Clearomizer (going to start out with 6 to 8 just in case, same with below)
Atomizer head for Innokin iClear 30 Tank (not sure on the resistance? choices are 1.5 and 2.1, should I get both, going to re-read the thread in case I missed it somewhere)

the MVP should have a charge indicator and should last 2 days or so. you shouldn't need a spare. (or borrow your hubbys for a moment, unscrewing and switching the tanks while yours sits in a charger for a while)

also, 6-8 tanks? why so many? i'd get 3 at the most, especially if you don't like them.
