Strong heating of the body comes from low exposure minus the wires.
Try to put under the NR wire wick in metellichesky channel in two - three wire. (from the spiral - down - until the end of the ceramic housing, then bend - pave up to the beginning of the slot in the keramchashke, bend back and forth to the ends of the ceramic housing.
Above presses wick.
So you provide a very good contact with no leakage current epetrillo.

Thank you I will try that on the next coil I make.

If you're noticing things changing as you move the juice control your coil is probably touching it somewhere. Idid this on my first 2 and watched my ohms jump from like 1.8 to 6 when I fiddled with the juice control.

Also yes if it's working better at 4.8 volts you are making some high resistance coils. If you are still having problems I can post my long story of initial failures. I think I made all of the mistakes one could make. However, after a few days I figured it out and every coil comes out to my exact desired ohm. Having s many of these I've probably made 25+ coils and since the first few days all have worked perfectly. Just hang in there you will get to a point when you can make one in 2 minutes half asleep and it will be perfect each time.

I may know what my problem has been. I picked up a multimeter today and things seem to make sense now. I checked my Penelope and the last coil I made ohms out at almost 4ohms. I tried making another wire. the resistance wire was only 1.25" and the joints to the NR wire were very tight but before twisting a coil I checked the ohms. Total untrimmed length of R + NR wire was just over 6" and it metered at just over 6 ohms. Not believing my connections could be that bad I checked the NR wire I was using and it meters a about 1ohm per inch!

I received this Penelope from the previous owner with two bundles of wire. One labeled Kanthal A 32 and the other labeled NR. I believe that either the previous mixed up his wire or my assumption that "NR" meant "no resistance" was incorrect. Seems I've been making my coils with all resistance wire. I am actually surprised how well the Penelope worked this way at 4.8v on my Ego twist.

I have some .999 silver 30 ga wire on it's way to me and I hope thing will go a lot better using that.

NR wire always means NoResistance wire in ecigs. So the previous guy must have mixed it up. Easy to find though. Just switch you multimeter to 200 ohms and check the "NR" wire. Simple as that. Although you will probably have heard this before go for around 1.5-1.9Ω max for 3.7V vaping..later on you can also try the so called "dual-coil" setup. ;)

Mosin can you please explain some more how to put negative wire to have better contact-maybe a few pics would help

I think what my friend mosin is trying to explain is to wrap the negative "no resistance wire" (the one that goes in the metal channel, on the ceramic housing) around the wick until the end of the ceramic housing (don't wrap ip too thight, it should not strangulate the wick), then bend up the remaining no resistance wire and put it inside the metallic channel.

Another way is to catch the negative no resistance wire with the upper connection nut (the big ring that maintains the ceramic housing in place) and the Penelope base, a la Odysseus way, something like this (picture was posted on the Odysseus thread some time ago, this is the method I use on my Odysseus):

Got my .999 silver wire and my first coil with it is an unqualified success!! 1" of 32 ga Nichrome wire netted me 4 perfect little wraps on a single 3mm wick. This gave me a 1.8 ohm coil that is producing more vapor than I know what to do with and "oh the taste". My Penelope is now performing just like I hoped it would. I couldn't be happier. Thanks for the help and encouragement.
