New Protank smells like gasoline!

I just got a few new Kanger Protanks. I'm excited to use them but they smell a bit like gasoline. GAG. Do I clean them before I use them? If so, how?

Also, how do I now the resistance of the atomizer?

Yeah you gotta wash out the tanks on them really good, just use some hot water, could use soap too if you want. It won't hurt it any.

You should wash all new tanks. Sometimes there will be some oil, etc that can be left in them. Dry burn the wick too and if you have time rinse them. Just to be sure.

Only way I have see to tell resistance is by using an APV or meter. Did not see a number on them.

on my protank the resistance is found on the head its self just below the threading that connects it to the base 510 connector




this is the stock protank head that came with my tank, and the evod heads are also marked like this

Actually- the resistance is marked on the bottom little post of the atomizer. You just have to have good eyes (which I don't). I got one 1.8 and one 2.5 in the package.

if the soap and water doesnt do the trick, you can use some alcohol, cleans up most "things"

My pro-tanks both had that same smell when they came out of their boxes (from two different vendors, so must be a factory thing). Yes you _should_ wash them, but I found that if I just took them out of the box, and removed the rubber covers on the heads, the smell went away after a few hours.

I washed them - in fact I washed everything in the box including the atomizers. Now they smell better and I'm ready to fill them up and give them a try...
