Well I received my new Provari from Provape along with a pack of cartomizers and 3 Kanger Protank 2's. For the life of me, I can't get the protanks to work, they just draw air and read 0 ohms. Switched tanks, heads, nothing. The carts all taste burnt, can't stand to pull from them. So it's back to my evod/ego and the Provari is going back.

Did you prime your cartos correctly? Did you over tighten your pt and break the coil? If it's not reading any ohms, it's either not making contact with the center pin or coil wire is broken. What were the ohm readings on your carto's? And how many volts did you use to vape at? Cartos do need to be primed correctly or you will burn the fiber inside, ruining the carto and getting burnt taste.

Yeah, try turning your voltage down to like 3 and work your way up.
I'm vapping a pro tank on my ProVari and it works great. I do run some custom coils but the stock ones worked fine. Make sure you have the heads screwed down all the way into the base and don't over tighten the pro tank on to your ProVari. It will crush the bottom of the head in the tank and make all kinds of problems like shorting out and leaking.

Whoa Whoa! Your tank doesn't work, so you blame the Mod? While it is not impossible, it is very improbable that your Provari showed up not working.

Take a breath and let's figure this out.

Let's take it step by step. OK?

The ProTank 2 is a known finicky device. Mine often comes up as a short on my Provari. This happens often when I crank the PT2 down too tightly. Try backing it off a quarter or even a half turn. Also check that you have the coil screwed in correctly. Sometimes backing the coil out a quarter turn from the base also helps.

The Cartos. Are you using them as drippers or in tanks? Did you prime them well? It sounds like you tested them before priming. One a carto is burnt, it is ruined and will never taste good.

What were you using before you got the Provari? Have you tried any of those toppers that you know work on the Provari?

If you put a known working topper on and it also fails, then maybe you did get a problem. If so, contact ProVape, they will correct the issue.

A zero reading in ohms means the connections are not mating up correctly = the Provari can't tell there's a tank connected. No electrical current to fire the coils in the tanks means no vapor produced. Look here for some possible solutions: https://provape.zendesk.com/home

Contact Provape via email ticket if you don't find your answer.

Also, remove the tank and look at the connector pin on the Provari. Is there any e-liquid there? If so, take a paper towel and wipe it clean. Juice on the connector pin will cause no conductivity to the juice attachment.

Did you try the cartomizers and Protank on your Ego? Same results? Chances are great there is user error involved here. Proper priming the cartomizer is of extreme importance, not enough juice will cause burning of the polyfiller resulting in a burnt taste. Some people can't stand Low Resistance cartomizers or dual coil cartomizers, switching to standard resistance cartomizers and single coil cartomizers can make all the difference in the world.

Filling, or Priming, the Cartomizer - "Drip & Flip" Method:
This is the method that I have used successfully. To keep juice out of the center air hole when filling the carto I plug it with half of a wood tooth pick.

The most important step is to completely fill the carto with enough juice. How well you do this step will determine how well this carto will perform for the rest of its life in the tank. Take your time & do it right.

I hold the carto at a slight angle, and rotate it around as I drip liquid onto the polyfill. When the fibers look like a slushy drink, I shake the carto down like a thermometer. This produces the same effect as a centrifuge, forcing the juice down into the carto bottom.

I then add more drops, and shake it down again. Repeat this process until the polyfill will absorb no more liquid. The fibers should glisten, wet but not pooling. Now the carto is ready to vape.

Reminds me of a story....

When I was a kid, my little brother got a toy train set for his birthday from my folks. My dad spent a few minutes putting the tracks together, put the batteries in the engine, and clicked the "on" switch. The train ran backwards. And only backwards. This incensed my father so much he took the tracks apart, threw the train and the tracks back in the box, and yelled at my mother to take the clearly defective train back to the store. Which she did. At the store the clerk removed the train and the tracks, threw the switch on the engine, and sure enough, the train only ran backwards. Without saying a word, the clerk picked up the engine, flipped it over, and opened the battery housing. "There's your problem, lady. The battery is in backwards."

Cute story. But don't attempt to do this with the Provari's battery.

Dang, maybe I should have used this story instead...

When I was a kid, I got my first 2 wheeler bike from my folks for my birthday. It was a powder blue Schwinn Sting-Ray with Fastback handlebars and a banana seat that was white with large, pastel colored flowers on it. It came fully assembled but for the kickstand. As I anxiously waited to ride my first "big girl" bike, my dad grabbed his wrench and installed the kickstand. He put the kickstand down, set the bike on it, and the bike fell over. So he picked it up, made sure the kickstand was down, and let go. Again, the bike fell over. This happened a few more times until my dad started swearing, yelled for my mother, wrangled my brand-new bike in the back of the Buick Estate Wagon, and demanded that my mother take the entire bike back to the store as the kickstand was clearly defective. So my mother takes the bike back to the shop, where she explains that the kickstand doesn't work. The clerk removed my beautiful bike from the back of the wagon, put down the kickstand, and let go. The bike, of course, fell over. The clerk bent down on his knee, took a closer look at the kickstand and said, "There's your problem lady. The kickstand was installed upside-down."

This is way off topic but the manual on the SVD says "Please install a proper battery before operation. Screw the battery (-) negative cap off the telescoping tube, then insert battery into the telescopic tube with the negative (-) end of the battery in first and the positive (+) end out towards the battery negative (-) cap."

Those chinese folks use google translate to make their manuals! Never trust them! LoL

Sounds like your mom was always taking the bag for your pops who clearly never read instruction manuals!

Yeah, she has the patience of a saint. She also knew that if my father brought [insert particular item here] back to the store, things would only get worse.

And now you know why, when I first read the OP, I was like "Dad? Is that you?"

I sure hope your dad didn't do a lot of home projects......

This has worked for the cartomizer. Thank you and to those who also offered suggestions. Now I have to figure out the tank problem.
