I've been vaping for a little while now and have a few eGo batteries but have finally taken the plunge for the ProVari after lurking around ECF for awhile. I was and still struggle with consistency through the day and it seems the ProVari will help with that. However, I'm curious about the settings before I even get it. The 2.5 kit I ordered comes with the Kanger Pro2 tank. I already have the Kanger Pro1 tank which was a big part of my decision making. I really like my Kanger.

So all this said, does anybody have any good recommendations for the ProVari/Kanger setup out of the box? I don't want to cook the coil on it right after I get it, experimenting.

The other thing I think I get, is its consistency. Once I find the right voltage that I like and works well, how does the ProVari keep the production so consistent? Is it because once the voltage is set, the firmware keeps the settings accurate through the battery charge, or am I going to adjust it through the day as the charge wears off?

People will say the best way is to start at the lowest setting and keep moving up until you get to the flavor you like. For me, at that resistance I would start at 4.0 volts and maybe go up a little until the taste starts to get get worse. I'm usually at 4.2 volts on my Kanger Aeros.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to ECF... Congrats on your new Provari.

The provari is a regulated device, meaning that it if you set your Provari for 4.2 volts... it will fire exactly 4.2 volts for the entire discharge of the battery. The Provari is exceptionally accurate in keeping the voltage steady.

The only bad thing I can say about your Provari + Protank 2 kit is that some protanks 2 (mine anyways) doesn't like to be screwed in to tight on the provari, I have to keep mine loose to allow a good airflow, if I screw it on to tight it completely blocks it.

Thanks for the info. I thought this was how it would work. I can't wait!!!

I've experienced this with my Pro Tank 1 on certain batteries. Some are great, some block it up. I'm ok with "adjusting" it to the right flow.

Congratulations on the purchase. You won't regret it. It's a fantastic device.

As far as the rest goes, everyone is right. Adjust to flavor. I don't recall what the ohms are on the stock Protank 2, but if you're concerned about a starting point, this chart is pretty helpful in figuring out where to start with voltage and you can just adjust for flavor from there. It should list the ohms of your Protank coil on the box.

Ditch the protank. Upgrade to a Kayfun or some other RBA and really take advantage of the Provari. It's a great PV and really deserves a proper crown IMO.

I used mine with an Aerotank for a week or so then purchased a Kayfun and can't even begin to tell you how big of a difference it made. A great device deserves a great tank to really appreciate what it is. With all the great tutorials on YouTube it's easy to rebuild it seems lots of brick and mortars are starting to offer builds for a small fee. My local shop will set you up with a rebuild for $5 or free if you purchase the tank and mod from them. A Kayfun on a Provari is worth it's weight in gold!

To be fair, using a $200 battery with a $20 tank doesn't seem the best way to go.

That is exactly how I use my ProVari. I have 5 PT2s to top it off. The ProVari will not fire the coils I have in my RDAs and the tanks allow me to change flavors whenever the mood strikes. I see no reason not to use a cheap tank on a ProVari. There are better things to top it off with but if the PT2 works for the user then why not use them?

Nothing against it, if it works for you go for it. I'm just saying you don't have to spend that much for quality. An MVP 2 for $40 works just as well with protanks, I don't really see a whole lot of justification to spend that extra $160.

I have had my Provari Mini now for a couple of weeks. Just loving it. Check out this link it will help with the voltage settings as to not burn out your coil. http://www.vaporsworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/power-vaping-chart-lg.jpg

And it goes according to your preference if you want a warm or cooler vape. The chart has helped me alot, I'm always referring to it when switching coils. As for the Pro Tank, I have one, liked it but since then have gotten the Kayfun Lite. WOW WOW WOW its the bomb.

ProVari keeps its setting all day and even when switching batteries and on and off. Good luck with it, you will love it I'm sure.

Ok, so it arrived yesterday and OMG this thing is amazing. All I can say is, I get it now! I'm still on the first battery and each vape is just like the first. I've tried all the different atomizers/cartomizers I have on it and everyone of them feels better, tastes better, and inhales better. I had no idea just how good my cigar flavored juice was (or how strong it was). I will definitely be dropping the nic level when I reorder.

Thanks for all the input. You guys are awesome. Now, as soon as budget allows, the Kayfun is next!!!

My 2 cents...........I have and actually enjoy the Provari with the PT II. I did buy an Aerotank base (they are $6) and it helped with the fit on the top and I can control the airflow. It is an amazing APV.

I just bought a Kayfun but haven't used it yet but even if it doesn't, I am horribly impressed with the Provari/PTII/Aerotank base set up.

I've got to have one of these. It looks like I'm a little slow out of the gate though as it looks like they are sold out at the moment. What's is weird though, is that my PT1 works perfectly on the ProVari but the PT2 is restrictive. I think I'll try swapping out the bases and see if the PT2 works fine until I can get 1 (or 2) of these aerobases.

I have been using PT2s with a Provari mini when I'm away from the house. (I mostly drip at home) It works quite well although I remove the Kanger supplied flavor wicks and replace with one snip of 2mm silica. Somehow even though it seems like about the same amount of material, the stock coils are prone to flooding\gurgling whereas this small modification makes them work perfectly all the way to empty tank.
