Hello all!!! i'm new to this forum, so i guess my start will be a little bit about myself :p
i've been smoking (about a pack & a half a day) for almost 15 years now & i am SO ready to drastically cut back, and perhaps quit regular (analog?) cigarettes altogether... i definitely at least want to get into e-cigs due to the fact that i am only 28 and have horrible breathing issues! and it seems my smoking is even causing other issues, as of late, like stomach problems and whatnot. *yikes* and until i can quit altogether, i really want to at least move on to something a lil healthier, like the e-cig.
i've been reading different threads in this forum since yesterday, and although it HAS been very informative and helpful so far, i'm still a newbie, and well, am still a little lost on some of the terms and technical schtuff.
my main reason for posting (and the reason i actually started looking all this up in the first place) is i actually have the opportunity to purchase an e-cig today :banana: ! i'm hella-excited!!! it WILL be at a "Totally Wicked" store, so that is my only option, brand-wise, but i would definitely appreciate any help on choosing the right one for me.
my friend has a TW Tornado tank (i believe that's what it's called), and i tried it out yesterday. i was actually quite pleased with it! but... i looked up the website, and must say, i really, really like the look and assumed "feel" of the Titan so much more! i think (not absolutely sure) these two might be my only options, or at least that's how it seems from the website. and i'm not sure which direction to go!!
i guess my main concerns are a) the "throat hit", that's something i HAVE to have! b) a decent amount of vapor, and c) i REALLY need one that will last the longest possible! as far as the throat hit and vapor, the tornado was excellent. but, my job is 12 hour shifts (plus, it's an hour away, unfortunately, so i'll need about 14-15 hours of battery life or whatever). i'd really like to MOSTLY use the e-cig, with limited regular cigarettes, and hopefully NO regular cigarettes after a while. but i don't know what the best option would be as far as these two models are concerned. :?:
let's see.... it'll definitely be mostly just menthol (although i'd love to play around with other flavors as well when i can), and i have absolutely no problem with any hassles that might come along with refilling and all that. i don't mind the hassle.
please excuse my lack of knowledge on all of this, and i hope i've made at least a little sense in my post and inquiries? heh
i guess what i'm hoping for is any helpful advice on which would be my best bet to start out with. i would really love to get the Titan, rather than the tornado, but if the tornado would suit my needs better, i can settle for that. basically, i would like a good throat hit, decent amount of vapor, and the longest life i can possibly get. and other than the model, would it be better for me to get several batteries and just bring a few along with me to work? or to get the pcc? *eek* i REALLY appreciate any help or information, opinions, etc that anyone could give me!!! and of course, i will definitely post MY opinion/experience after i buy and try it out, whichever i end up with =D
thanks again!
and hellooooooooo again!!!

The Throat Hit comes from the amount of nicotine in the juice, and if its PG/VG. 100% PG hasd the best hit. VG increases the vape/smoke but reduces the hit and falvor. I would say go with a 20%VG to 80% PG mixture. Not sure if that brand has a mega battery, ( 900-1000 mah) but those will last you 15 hours easily. Also get the mega tank with 2+ml capacity. That should be good. Also check out the Joey eGo Mega Tank with extended battery. That would suit you perfectly.

The titan is a 510. You get about an hour per 100 mah battery. So with their 220 battery, approximately 2 1/2 hours continous vaping, the 340 mah battery about 3 1/2 hours, etc. That's continous. If you don't vape continously, it's obviously longer than that.

A 510 is a good PV but if you want 14 hours on a battery, you'll need several batteries and a pcc.

The tornado comes with 650 mah batteries or larger 1000 mah batteries. A 1000 mah battery should last you all day. I'm not a fan of tanks but I assume you can also use cartomizers on the 1000 mah battery which is what I use and like. It isn't small like the 510 but batteries last longer.

You have to figure out what is more important to you- battery life or size/appearance. Both will probably give you a good vape.

I mentioned this to someone else recently...skip the "kits." Get you a couple of 1000Mah eGo or TW batts, a charger and 3-4 eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartos, some juice and you're golden. The only thing missing is the fancy schmancy presentation case which is worthless anyway...and the tanks...which are just about as worthless as the case IMHO.

Do not buy auto batteries. Manual batteries are safer from damage by leaks and make it easier to get a good hit.

Joye 510 mega xl manual (or whatever TW calls it) is 280mah and hold its voltage up nicely. I vape them with Boge standard resistance cartomizers. And double check your charging cable - the fine print on the back of the screw-in end - for a slim 510 it should output no more than 220mA. Just warning because I was shipped an incorrect cable in my TW 510 kit (a 420ma cable meant for a fat battery and it damaged some of my slim batteries over time - took me months to realize it was not the right cable). 510 comes with atomizer and carts (an OK way to start vaping or test juices.) Also buy a 510 drip tip if you got manual batteries - you can drip on the atty to test juices. And buy some Boge 3 ohm cartomizers (best with thin juices, 20% or less VG)

For more hit, see if TW has a KR808D-1 model (but I don't think they do. Vapor4Life and SmokelessImage Volt and some others do). KR808D-1 is a real 3.7v slim ecig and I recommend the standard aka 78mm size batteries for a 120mm ecig. You can get prefilled and blank cartos and juices at Vapor4Life, Smokeless Image, Bloogplanet, Halocigs (G6)

For more hit or longer battery life, you have to skip slim ecigs and go to fat battery models and mods because they can use LR (low resistance) hotter cartomizers and atomizers.

+1 on what the swede said...most want as close to a cig in appearance but that changes pretty quickly when performance comes into play...I would get the Tornado with the 1000mah batt...it'll last ya all day...I would also forget the tanks...have not tried any but, have read many more complaints than compliments...you can get cartos that hold as much or more than the tanks and not have the leakage problems many have experienced with the tanks...just my take and as always, YMMV.................

That 14 hour thing could be rough, or not so bad. Can you charge a battery while you are there? Are you at a desk where you can charge? If so, you'll be fine. If you need to take them in with you and can't charge while you are there, I'd suggest a minimum of two 1000 mah batteries. One might get you through a 14 hour period, if it's fully charged and it's new. As it gets older, it won't last as long. And normally, you need two so you can use one while the other charges.

A passthrough might be useful. It's a battery, so when you're driving or "out and about" it will still work, but you can plug it in and vape while it's charging. Anything that isn't labeled a passthrough means that you can't use it while it's charging.

Totally Wicked has passthroughs, if that's what you decide on.

TORNADO Manual Passthrough - Black

Other than a passthrough, I'd suggest trying to stick with 1000 mah batteries in some model comparable to the eGo. I think (not sure) that the "Tornado" stuff that Totally Wicked sells are eGo clones. Your best option would be a 1000 mah passthrough, but I'm not sure if they have those.

Good luck.

Start with an Ego or Riva 510 kit. Period. You'll end up with one eventually anyway if you find that vaping works for you.

Order either kit from www.liberty-flights.com

If you want to stay with TW, and you like little devil's heads on your stuff, go with the Tornado. Basically the same as Ego or Riva 510.

Get some juice elsewhere tho. Or maybe just a sampler from either one to get you started.

For Juice, try FreedomSmokeUSA or E Cigarette, E-liquid - Vapor Station

They both have samplers you can purchase before you order a large quantity of something you may not like. The samples are usually 3 to 5ml in in size and that much juice is good for about a day.

+1 to carpedebass & Bozzlite.
Skip the re-branded stuffs & skip the "cig look-a-like" devices if you really want a lasting device considering you work 12 hours or more. Get yourself at least a pair of 1000mAh Ego-T battery, a charger for ego-T batteries, 5 or 10 dualcoil 1.5ohm cartomizers (Smoktech cartomizers), and you are set. Liberty Flights have great price and got all of it. Get some e-liquids at other places. These are some of e-liquids vendors with great flavors: Freedomsmokeusa, Tastyvapor, BackwoodBrews, AlienVisionEjuice. And you are good to go.
And, Welcome to ECF! The most helpful forum with the nicest people on earth (that's including me of course) :p

+1 on the 900 or 1000 mah TW Tornado. It's an ego clone, and should last you all day or close to it, 2 of them definately will. I'm sure there are probably cheaper places to get better ego stuff, but if the store is your only place you can get it, make sure you get the larger tornado. You won't be happy with the battery life of the other one at all. It'll probably be more expensive for the tornado, and the larger battery size will be more than the smaller tornado, but if you can find a way to afford it, do it. Not something you want to have to replace later on when you discover the batteries just aren't holding out for you. You may hear people say that those little cigarette sized batteries are awesome and will be perfect for you, but believe us. Many of us started out with the small batt ecig and have moved on. No reason to start out like we did when you can start out where we are now :)

I think this person is going to a brick and mortar TW store and is going to purchase from there.

If there's one thing I've discovered about this site, is nobody really reads the OP's thread. If you ask what the best carto is, somebody is going to tell you to try the newest tank mod. If you ask whether you should buy manual or auto 510 batts, people are going to tell you to buy a mod. If you ask for a comparison between store 1 or store 2 for juice and customer service , people are going to tell you to try store 58 because "they're the best!!!". So many people ignore the OPs question and just go into what their personal favorite is and how they shouldn't even bother with what the originally asked about. Gets to me sometimes how unhelpful we can be. Ok, this post is being unhelpful too, so I'm done ranting.

I think just about everyone who has posted listed things that will either work with a TW device or should (may) be available at a BM store that sells things that are compatible with them. We really don't know what is or is not available at that store. Just trying to help...

Heh, I'll bet your head is swimming with advice so I'll just say welcome to the vaping family and good for you!!!! I'm a very satisfied Totally Wicked customer so I think you're making a great choice. TW has an awesome forum that you can join via their website so check it out!!! Lots of great people there and good advice!

I bought the smallest Titan 510 starter kit to see if I liked it, I did, and I then bought the larger kit. So for less than $55, I now have 3 batteries, 3 atomizers, a bottle of liquid, 4 empty carts, 10 prefilled carts, and two types of chargers. That will last me for a while!!!! Their e-liquids are great -- lots of different kinds and super tasty flavors.
