I was wrong. The XL in the previous mod is not as bad as I thought it was. This happened because I was not thinking about something that should have been discussed long ago. I apologize for not saying something before now.
So listen up boys and girls. The old man is about to say something important. The E2 coil will run too hot almost immediately if there is a restriction in the intake. The juice will burn quickly and the wick can not keep up enough to prevent it.
I discovered this sometime back with a KR808. My Kr808 batteries have 3 small air holes in the fitting. An E2 works well on these batteries. I have two KR808 to 510 adapters that only have two holes in the fittings. When a KR808 E2 is vaped with these adapters at the lower voltage of a 510 battery, it runs hot and ruins the taste of my juice. This may not happen with everyone and their flavors, etc., but it sure can happen with some.
Naturally, there are different things that cause restrictions, so you will have to determine what's wrong if you are troubleshooting. It may be something as simple as a small amount of crud in a small hole. In my particular case with the bottle mod, it was a combination of a faulty E2 and my Hello battery.
This E2 was faulty because the insulating grommet for the center post was too loose in the fitting. Therefore, the center post would not stay in place for the Hello battery to make an electrical contact until the air gap closed up too much. I already knew this. I just didn't have my head screwed on right. The mod worked better when it was screwed on to a 510 battery.
Yeah, I know. I can modify my Hello battery so this wouldn't happen. There just hasn't been a need to because I never force the gap closed too far. That is, until today when it closed up just a wee bit too much.
