Oh thank god, I'm so sick of these meek 200+ mods. The vape just isn't warm enough for me. I probably need a 500-550 watt device to be happy but the 400 will help me cope until they make a bigger one. I'm waiting on the quad 26650 mods so I can get at least a day before I have to recharge. Ok but seriously 400 is a bit of overkill.

I do not think anyone would/does vape over 200-250 on a consistent basis. If they do they have iron lungs.
I am not sure the mod would put out 400 with 4,or even 5 batteries.

Why could they not stop at the 250w mark and just improve the devise on a consistent basis? That would be fine with me. Make tweaks, add features ??? I don't know i think they are hurting the vape community putting out higher wattage mods .

I think its ridiculous to but you have to remember, it wasn't to far back 200w sounded stupid and not to far back from that a 20w mod sounded ridiculous. Wasn't that many years back that an ego was top of the line. We have come a long way in a very short amount of time. Think where we could be if our government helped instead of condemning.

They will keep increasing watts and batteries until the sales aren't there, then they have to find something different to push new sales. At some point all technology hits a peak point where there is little innovation left, especially on the hardware side.

That is very true but the vape industries technologies are still in it's infancy so,they still have a long way to go before peak,at least I think so??

400w is nutty.

I DO want to buy this new 350w Smok GX2/4 though....
$54.07 Authentic Smoktech SMOK GX2/4 350W TC VW APV Box Mod - 4*18650 (reach up to 350W output) / 2*18650 (reach up to 220W output) / 100-315'C (200-600'F) / OLED screen display at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Before I get flamed, I love my Alien and vape at 45-120w. This new mod looks a lot like an Alien in 2 battery mode but has a 4 battery option. It will be huge with 4 batteries, but perfect for long drives or other times I dont want to change batteries. I would likely use it mainly in 2 battery mode though.

No flaming, just be aware there have been issues in other manufacturers mods that have interchangeable battery covers like that. They can have connectivity problems with the "removable" cover and make poor contact. That was an issue in the RX2/3.

Well i can remember something just like this happening with cordless drill, then they using ni-cd batts and they were heavier then todays ni-mh packs, last i remember there was talk of a 24v cordless drill and i was thinking : whats next a car batt pack ?!?!? i stopped at the 12volt mark ,just as fast as the 18volt and a lot easier to fit in my bags

with that being said:

locally there is a modder making custom boxes that go from 300 watt all the way up to 3400 watts [no that was not a typo] ,and no i won't tell who it is either !!! i will not be involved with somebody removing their dam head because they wanted to vape with the biggest and baddest mod around

I really wish they would spend less time on producing more wattage and spend more time on control and safety. Mods with better control and sensing features. Tanks with better flavor output. Theres always going to be that one person who will take it to 400 but the vast majority would benefit way more with just better designed equipment.

Not saying the hardware has peaked but that it will. Using cell phones as an example. Screen size/phone size kept getting bigger and bigger, even went oversized and came back some in size. Then the other hardware started to improve. But if you look at a Samsung S4 vs S8, there really isn't much of a difference in 4 generations. The difference in the S2 vs S4 was much more dramatic. You see this in all technology and we'll see it in vaping at some point. I think it will be sooner than later, at least for most people who vape.

I also agree with previous post about improving features and safety. My biggest wish is improvement in battery technology: smaller, longer life, safer. But this has been a wish since boom box days through walkmans, flashlights, pda's, cell phone, etc.
