In an earlier post to Nate, you mentioned clipping the top coil in dual coil cartos to make them work better and increase the resistance. Can you provide instructions on how to do that for me? I just don't get what I want from the DC SmokTech cartos, and maybe this will help. You can either reply here, or PM me, or ask for my email and I will PM that to you.

Thanks, and have a great day!

Hey Calsax,
Of course I can explain. If you pull the end cap and look down the top of a SmokTech Dual-coil Carto, you will see a small black wire loop coming from the inside of the silica tube and down into the fiber fill wicking. I have a pair of small clippers, from radio shack, that just fits right down inside the end of the cartos, but you can even use a small pair of scissors. Just clip that top wire and presto, you now have a single coil 3.0ohm XL Cartomizer.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you need any clarification my friend,
Jason

Oh it is really easy, just get some needle nose wire snips and pull the rubber plug off of the mouth end of the carto, look down inside and in the center hole and you will see the wire looping out of the center tube, simply clip that wire and it is now a single coil at double the resistance of the label, give or take .1 or .2 ohms. I have yet to do this so I can not verify how well it makes the carto work vs how well they work as is. But I know many folks rave about them like this.

Good afternoon everyone, I am so happy to have an early day today, we flew through training and practical today :D:D

1 more day and a wake up!!!!!!

OMG! That is simply too easy! I will try that as soon as I get home (don't have any cartos with me - been purely dripping for a while on io6 attys). I bought a Trippy Tip that is being delivered today, and it won't work with the io6 or 306, so I will try it out with a tank.

Thanks for the great advice! I will be up to see you soon.:D

Hi Calsax,
Yeah I usually do this for customers that are using Lava Tubes and want to run a 5ml. carto tank. The Lava Tube doesn't put out enough amperage to push the Dual Coil Cartos very well, but if you clip one coil, they work phenomenally well. :)

Yeah I am getting antsy now, one more day and then pack up and go home time :D Looks like over all the weather should be very smooth for the flight home too, thankfully most of the nastiness happened earlier this week. That video of the Tractor Trailers flying through the air in the Tornado in Dallas was incredible, I have never seen anything like that before.

Ooooh I ran the Mile and a half in 30 seconds less than when I first got here and then the weigh in was a great bit of news LOL Down to 19% body fat :D That is a 6 % decrease in body fat since I got here :D My Pants look ridiculous LOL with all the bunched up belt area around the waist :D

Have a great great night my Friend, can't wait to get home and then come up and visit :D

Hey There Jason!

The throat hit is amazing... this is the Escalade of vaping for sure.... It is beautiful. I think her name is Phoebe. :) :)

I looked at the instructions, they are pretty basic. I'm also learning that you can start out low on the voltage, and click up to find the sweet spot.

The espresso was good at first but then I didn't like it. I will try it again in a few days. Has that ever happened to you? Crazy.

Jason you're the best!!!! Thank you so much for all of your help and knowledge my friend!!!!

Hi Enchanted, I hope you are thoroughly enjoying your new ProVari! :)
Let me know if you need any assistance running it through the paces.
Jason

Hey Enchanted,
Sorry I totally missed this post.
The espresso is really the closest thing to coffee I have ever vaped. That was actually my all day vape until I found Raspberry Mojito , but I vaped it for months and months on end. I am a real coffee-aholic though.
Yes the ProVari is definitely the Cadillac! :)
