New stingray clone firing button rattling

Hey guys,

im im new to modding but have done my research and decided on my first mod being a stingray clone. I was very excited to get it today but after tinkering around with it for a bit, I noticed that the firing button crackles and also feels very loose.

Moving the mod back and forth makes the firing button "clink and clank". It's almost like the threading isn't holding it in place correctly. I've been reading the forums about people with similar issues but haven't really seemed to find anything about the firing button being loose.

I have taken it completely apart and cleaned/washed it. I have messed with the rice pin which seems to have helped with the crunching. But the firing button is still shaking around like mad.

Is is there any quick fix that you guys can think of?

I don't have a Stingray but my first look would be at the screw that holds the pin to the switch itself. It is screwed in all the way? If there is a spring it may be collapsed. I can't think of what else it could be if not those 2 items.

After taking everything apart I made sure all parts were placed correctly and tightened appropriately.

There are no springs for the firing button for the sting ray. It has opposing magnets. If that's what you mean. I've contacted the supplier, so hopefully I can get some replacement part or a refund if I can't find some way of resolving the problem.

Anyone know of any reliable suppliers for stingray stainless steel clones?

I've got a couple of Stingray X clones that have loose switches. By loose, I mean they have slop when rotated back and forth as when threading/unthreading them. I went down to my local Hobbytown and picked up some .081" brass rod. The rice pin that came with them is quite a bit smaller in diameter(roughly .072-.075") than the cut-out itself. Cut a couple of small pieces from the rod, sanded the edges, now experience a lot less slop. One benefited more so than the other but definitely an improvement from when I recieved them.

Play with the center pin on the top cap and on your atty sometimes the spacing isn't right and causes a little wiggle room and it's a pita and very annoying

I recently got a Stingray clone (HiCigar) and noticed the "firing button" that you hear rattling it a floating magnet held in center by the white plastic short tube. I took mine apart and polished the inside seat and interior spindle of the outer cap, which made the button push way smoother. As for the button rattling around, I am pretty certain this is simply the design (good or bad) the magnets opposing keep the firing contact "floating" until you push the button and force the two together.
I also noticed that once I opened mine up, all of the surface are very coarsely finished (some even look pressed only) so polishing (really polishing, until i see a reflection) has made the button on mine super smooth. Hope any of that helps.

ive heard the clones have loose buttons...
