New Taxes Anyone

So... did everyone hear of the new .75 cent tax added to cigs yesterday? Amazing, I'm soooo glad I stopped using them. They also increased snuff and any other smokeless tobacco by 100% according to the paper. Unbelieveable!!!! And the statement in the paper was that that the state would make like 2 billion on just the cig tax and with the cost of smoker's healthcare being around 2 billion a year, it would offset the cost. Who the hell do they think they're kidding, the taxes aren't being used for smoker's healthcare.

I'm so happy to be vaping, even if it is in jeopardy of being banned. Where there is a will, there is a way... and I for one won't be stopping.

By my calculations, that should take it to about 35 cents for 'each' cigarette - THAT'S NUTS!!!

And I expect more taxes in the future, too. The states and the Fed aren't going to stop balancing their budgets on the backs of smokers any time soon. Cigs are easy to tax, because it's becoming an established norm....

I'm soooo glad I gave it up, too. Not going back!
