At the very bottom of this page, on the left hand side. It says ECF if you are using the normal format. Click on that and you will get options. The newest is ECF Material (hopefully only a working title LOL )
Thanks Robin. I found it.

Ok, so I like that the icon bars are here at the top of the reply box - very helpful.
I don't like that the words (upload a file, more options, etc) are grey.

Oliver, thanks for giving us the chance to comment. A huge undertaking you have. I agree with you about consolidating and re-organizing forums.

And I have one request. Actually many of us regulars have commented on this. If possible we would love to have a "read" button in addition to "like".

EDIT: About the font color. Please leave everything black. For many older people it is easier to read solid black letters than grey.

Can't handle the stark white, insanely bright screen. Please don't take the "dark" theme away.

He is not getting rid of the current dark theme and has plans for a dark version of the new theme style. He already added the new dark material theme but it still looks the same as the first material theme until he can start customizing the colors.

Yup @Fozzy71 , wanted to commit to the dark theme now. Even though it's totally identical to this (until I screw this one up, of course).

I'm adding these suggestions to the OP, by the way. There's a lot of work to be done on fonts/font color. I'm just trying to get a "look and feel" for now.

Not at all! I quite enjoy it really.

OK, sorry - late here. What does a "read" button do?

It means you read the post...like if something bad happened, you are not really comfortable hitting "like"

WOW ! ! ! Very Interesting "Oliver" . . . :admin:

After taking a little time looking at this new ECF Theme over, it has taken some time to figure out where things went. However I found the threads I wanted to for this quick evaluation and read through the post here too. Overall not bad . . . Just some suggestions - IMHO - if it counts for anything . . .

I Agree with previous posters . . .

1) A higher contrast in colour (even if it is all white) between the frames/boxes it would help to delineate what's what . . . Kept hitting the wrong space with mouse to move/scroll through thread . . .

2) A little larger Text and a stronger (bolder) text colour too as the default for posting and profile box . . . :thumb:

Remember there are Old Curmudgeons who can't see without glasses around . . .

3) Just like @Robino1 . . . Problem with Alert Button, over laps profile picture to much and does not drop down as before whole profile drops down and Ya' have to click "Alerts" to open new window see what it is . . . :nah:

4) "Read" button to acknowledge "You" have read a post instead of "Liking" a post, especially when it is bad news . . . ;)

5) FYI: Privacy settings are not being maintained with this theme (Who's/Who's Not Online) really want to continue/keep "Lurker" status until I post somewhere on ECF. . .

I just tried out all 5 options. The one I enjoy is Dark - ECF forum. Particularly did not like box format on others, took twice as long to scroll through. I like original with tags added. One was so bright my eyes literally started watering.

The one you're using doesn't have the quirk. The ECF-Material has the 'Alert' quirk.

I never could get used to a dark screen. I'm the opposite, the dark with white type makes my eyes hurt after a while. ;)

Oliver, I appreciate the work involved in this undertaking, but I am TRULY having a difficult time reading the pages with this new theme.

I have no "3 bars" (maybe tomorrow nite I shall, but that's another story for another time).

The font is tiny and it's muted. It does not seem user friendly in terms of finding the places, things, and icons we've been used to.

(Where is the user location?)

Oh le sigh. I'm not liking this, to be honest. :(

I like the direction, Oliver. If it plays well in mobile (which is the main reason I use the newer theme), then this may become a favorite of mine.

Yes, it needs work, but so do I.

"Read" lets posters know their post has been read. Useful for when the posts are negative such as sad or upset in some fashion, especially useful in "Lounge" threads where we tend to sometimes pour our hearts out. Hitting "Like" seems innappriate at those times.
