But @Uncle should not be able to see my light on.

WELL - At least I will always see the light that "YOU" shine . . .

One thing I don't like which may have been mentioned before is the links to other sites don't show up in red and the page numbers and reply and quote are too light. Seem to be a little better though but the link thing really bothers me. I read a message and don't even realize that something is a link.

I don't like this!! I have to click around to get my alerts or watched threads.... and while some may think a members join date unimportant....removing that allows anyone with zip knowledge, or experience, to present themselves as all knowing. True, length of time here doesn't guarantee how much knowledge one has, but at least it's a bit of a guide. Leaving that information there would also be a nice acknowledgement of those who have been here and stayed for a good length of time instead of wandering away to other sites and forums.

How on earth can one develop a nice, custom, personal avatar when there is no way to know how much is going to be cut off when that circle is applied?

Sorry, but I'm just not happy with this change... Was something broken that needed to be fixed?

You can switch back to the old theme at the bottom left of any page by clicking the active theme name and switching back to the old ECF theme (or ECF Dark if that is what you used, like me).

If I recall correctly, yes that can be done, but... it won't continue to be supported in the future...so it would appear we are to be forced into this one, like it or not...:(

Good grief!! Now some things are broken....my like button has totally disappeared. Went to google in an attempt to open new tabs for my watched threads and alerts...I get a blank page from the link with only the ECF logo at the top..a brief flash of forum sections that disappear before you can move your mouse to click on them...

welcome to the world of software, the internet, forums, updates, progress, the future, etc

edit: @Oliver edit reasons dont even show in the old ecf dark theme. do they show in the new theme?

to the person I was replying to originally. This is the way of the internet. forums, software, etc evolve and change. The internet is young. I have been doing software tech support for nearly 10yrs and our software is on v3 beta and change gripes are an ever recurring theme in my daily support replies.

Sandy, to get to your Watched Threads, hover over the your avatar on the top-right of the page. When the menu drops down, click on Alerts. On the Alerts page, Watched Threads is on the menu on the left side of the page.

Can't help you with the Like button. It's broke.
I know how to do it....very inconvenient to leave the thread I'm on when all I want is to check alerts to see if I need to reply to somebody.

I tried changing back to the old theme. It's acting screwy too now.
I tried the old theme as well...it wouldn't even allow me to post, in addition to being entirely different in appearance than what I had earlier today. I really don't need a third of the page taken up with a list of every member currently online...that's something that used to appear somewhere near bottom of the main forum page....along with an area that listed members birthdays on a given day.

I'm closing this thread because there's a new thread I opened earlier.

Likes - it will be off for some time. I'm installing a new post ratings system and it's rebuilding permissions. That's also what's causing some strange behavior being observed.

If anyone's interested, this theme is built on Google's Material Design standard.

When I have time tomorrow I will go through and compile the wishlist for changes. @yiddleboge6 this includes pulling the Alerts back into the navigation bar.
