Hello,

As I spend more than 10 hours at my desk, I have ordered vv passthru which comes with a CE4. I was advised not to connect this with computer or laptop. And, I am new to CE4. I would like to know the pros and cons of this kind of passthru and of CE4. And some tips on usage from experienced users.

This is what I am getting.

Pass through scan work ok and you should have a good time not haveing to worry about battery life issues . But , you still need a good ego , spinner , or mod for when you're not around a USB port . A CE4 is a good starting point as almost all of us ex smokers have used them at one point . You should dip the atty down to get those wicks wet befor you vape and have a spare atty nearby when that one quits . Several have stayed with the ce4 / ce5 design and it is a way to get you started . I have moved on as others but still keep it simple with a mech mod and evod glass atty and it's great for what I want . I keep a Boge ce5 atty with about 5 new heads on standby though just in case lol . Enjoy

You would need a phone charger that puts out at least 2amps. Less than 2amps and it won't work. The fine print on the charger itself should state how many amps it can output. You might need magnifying glasses to help you read the print.

Pros
1) no batteries
2) variable voltage, depending on model
3) easy to get past customs if you're going overseas where ecigs are banned
4) cheap

Cons
1) tangle of wire on desk. I'm ocd, so it gets on my nerves
2) the wire that is connected to the head of the unit may get frayed/twisted over time. Hasn't happened to me (don't use it much), but I've read that others have had the problem. Sticking some sugru on to protect the connection might help. I haven't tried that, just a guess.
3) you can only vape where you have an electrical outlet. BUT, you can get a powerbank which takes 18650 batteries and the rig becomes portable. But it's gonna be weird. Just ensure that the powerbank can output a minimum of 2amps.
