I spent several days researching this forum and decided to give DIY a try. I've only been vaping for a year, but I have experience soap making, so I'm use to the measurement calculators, percentages, syringes, pippettes, etc. In soap making you have to weigh all of your measurements, so this actually seems a bit easier... if I can get my flavors right. :)

Today, I found out that Wizzard Labs has much cheaper prices than ordering direct from TPA/TFA. Dang it! I ordered direct from the source. Lesson learned.

Is TPA's cotton candy the one with EM? I ended up getting both sweetener and EM, but I'm curious about using cotton candy instead. I saw a video that said that people cut the cotton candy flavor with distilled water. Is that what you guys do? Please advise...

Here's what I ordered. I hope I didn't forget anything! I also picked up some atomizers and drip tips for testing. I haven't dripped before, but I found a bunch of useful videos.

------------------------

This ought to keep my busy for a while. There are a couple more flavors I wanted that were out of stock..

Depending on how this goes, I might try out some savory flavors next. Am I crazy, or does roast beef, bleu cheese, jalapeno sound delicious?! Does anyone make a fresh baked bread flavor? YUM! :)

The ironic thing is that one of the reasons I got into vaping in the first place was to save money! LOL I don't think that's going to happen...

Sweetener (sucralose) and Ethyl Maltol do different things. They both sweeten, but Ethyl Maltol sweetens with a lower intensity. Ethyl Maltol can also add a moist mouthfeel and round off any sharp flavor edges.

I'm not sure whether TFA's cotton candy is EM or not, but I'm sure someone else around here knows.

Ahhh, thanks. That's very helpful. I'm curious about sweeting with Cotton Candy because I would never eat anything with sucralose, so I don't really want to vape it. I do like some flavors a bit sweet though.

Yes TFA Cotton Candy is EM in PG. Sweetener is Sucralose in PG. I have found the EM works nicely with tobacco based juices and like the Sucralose in bakery and others. In either case go light a little goes a long way (1% or less). You may want to try your mix without any then add if your juice seems flat or not to pop. Some people like me need a sweetener others don't.

If you do not have one here is a great calculator from ECF member Breaktru:

Happy vapes and enjoy the next part of this hobby -----DIY!!!!

Thanks, more great advice! I'll definitely try the EM with tobacco. I read on another thread someone had suggested a small amount of TPA Brown Sugar with tobacco to make it pop.. That sounds good, too.

Now I have to wait patiently for an entire week to get my orders. I'll probably obsessively check my tracking numbers. :)

TFA hazelnut is crazy strong....keep your percentage very low.....so is TFA cappucino...3% or less on both

TFA pomegranate? I tossed a 30 mil bottle...that one is garbage, the rest of your TFA flavors are ok if mixed at the correct %'s.

Very good to know, thanks. I found a TFA percentage thread I subscribed to, so I'll definitely be using everyone's advice. I'm a little worried about the coffee flavors because I understand they can be difficult. I got a handful of various flavors to play with. The only pre-mixed coffee I've bought and liked (and I've tried many!) is called "venti vanilla" with coffee, creme brulee and a splash of vanilla. The rest always taste like burnt coffee to me.

I'm bummed to hear about the pomegranate. I'd be curious to know if someone has a recommendation for a more potent brand.
