I have bought OBS Nano as my first sub-ohm rta as i used to do MTL and not yet used to be able to get a good build on the Nano as i'm seeking the flavor not clouds.
currently i'm using KA 1 24awg, 3mm , 0.54 ohms
what will be the suitable wattage to vape on such wattage?(not willing to use claptons yet)

i used to use 28awg that end up vaping it on 11w

Assuming you are using a regulated mod, any wattage that works best for you. With a regulated mod, coil resistance is irrelevant.

I suggest you start out with 11 watts, and gradually increase the wattage setting until you begin to get a burnt taste, or the vape becomes too warm/hot. Then back down a bit to find YOUR sweet spot for flavor.

Different flavors may perform better at different wattage settings, or different wick material, or different wire type. There's a variety of factors which influence flavor.

I use a regulated mod, what about the voltage?
For MTL I used to vape between 3.7V to 4V
Is it the same for DL or I can reach 4.8V and that would be normal?

For your purposes, variable voltage and variable wattage can be considered the same thing, just two different ways to get to the same end point.

  • Watts is a derived unit of power. Voltage is a simple measurement. Wattage is a calculation.
In a nutshell, wattage (power) is equal to the voltage squared divided by the resistance of the atomizer. In a variable wattage device, it reads the resistance of the atomizer and calculates the voltage needed based on your wattage setting. I know that sounds complicated, but you don't really have to understand that part. Let's move on...
  • Volts = the level of power (force) coming out of the battery.
Watts = the amount of power (work) coming through your atomizer.
  • Ohms = measured unit of resistance of a wire coil. Determines the amount of electrical current that will pass through the coil and thereby determines the amount of heat generated by the coil.
As I explained earlier, start low and increase gradually the power output. Doesn't really matter if you are MTL or DTL vaping.

Ohm's Law Explained for Vapers
  • My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in simple layman terms and how it relates to vaping.
