I was so confused about the term dripping and what was involved. Members on this forum helped me understand and I took the plunge. The confusion for me was all the parts and options with the Inferno, they offered both drip tips and carts and a cone, say what?? I have been using it now for a week. I photographed it next to a v2 and asked Wayne to put it on his blog to compare it with a standard size ecig. Volcano Inferno vs My Standard v2 | The Ecig Journal The answer was you can use either carts or atty & drip tip.
If you are reading this and don't understand dripping - you don't use a cartomizer or cart - you just use an atomizer & drip tip and put a few drops in the opening of the tip so you have to do this pretty often compared to using a cart. The "Mods" are made by several folks here and hold a small bottle of juice which is fed in the system - you don't use carts and you don't drip. (Is that right?)
I like to drip but I think it uses more juice (probably because I use it more often, or is it because the battery and atty burn more - there is a lot more vapor than with a standard Ecig). I don't get a burnt wick (so far) The carts are a bit of a pain as I can't use the condom refill on them - you have to use a syringe and get the juice between the atty wire. So the answer there is to fill a lot at a time so they are available.
I can see how it was that mods came about with the bottom feeder - apparently almost endless juice without having to refill often. Not sure I would use that in public but it would be convenient at home. (I haven't yet used the Inferno in public)
I see a MOD possibly in my future. This bottom fed thing looks like it's the ultimate in convenience. I do have some questions about them though:
(Re MODS) Is a rechargeable battery used? Are these standard batteries that one can just go about anywhere to purchase?
Where does the atty go? Do they eat through juice?
What are the types of things one would look for in a MOD?
Thanks in advance.
