My wife and i just switched and i bought her 2 auto batteries and myself a manual one. Is there any danger if i accidentally over fill hers or will the battery just stop working? Thanks.

You'll be fine. It'll just stop working. Dormouse probably has some good suggestions on not overfilling. Honestly all I do is count 15 drops and check to make sure no juice is leaking out of the bottom of the carto. If juice is leaking I dry it with a paper towel and vape away. Everyone says auto batteries are super sensitive to juice, but after several months, I haven't ruined a single one with juice. By the time you ruin it, it'll most likely be time to get a new one anyway.

After recharging the slim batteries for 2 or 3 months they will start to lose their ability to hold a charge. I use Vapeshot.com stuff now and they send you a free battery after you get 20 boxes of cartos anyway. Other manufacturers have warranties that may replace the battery as well.

If you want the battery to last longer get something bigger like an eGo. You should note that all Li batteries start to lose their strength after 150 or so charges. The larger batteries last longer simply because you don't have to charge them as much (in my opinion). Others will say that there is less strain on the bigger batteries which is true but it is a simple fact of life that Li batteries - no matter how big - can only be recharged so many times.

It depends on preference.

If you want control over everything else, the manual will be a better option. Like others have said, they are also safer. I personally like the auto, but maybe I'm just lazy. Mine has a long cutoff, so I can get good vapor from it. Just make sure you never fill the carto on the battery.

I believe with the volt 2 battery kits, you can pick each battery. Maybe one of each?

I'm one of the few that prefer auto batteries. I refill my cartos carefully (and take them off my battery first) so I've never had a problem with frying a battery.

I personally find that the auto batts mimic the act of smoking better for me. You actually have to take a drag to activate the sensor, whereas with a manual you press the buttton and the vapour kinda pours out. I like a little more resistance.

It's a personal preference. If you're buying a starter kit that comes with two batteries, why not choose one of each to see what you like?

Just my :2c: :)

Finally I find someone else that prefers autos!! That's all I use and I try to keep up with the mouse's posts to make sure people get both sides of the story :2cool:

P.S. Dormouse knows her stuff, I take her advice in my posts.

Yeah that is probably part of why..but better quality lithium-ion battery's probably can go through more charge cycles also...

Think of auto, cigarette-size batteries as training wheels. When you're done worrying about mimicking analog smoking, and you're ready to start actual dedicated vaping, the transition to a larger manual battery will seem like a natural progression.

I loved smoking, so I want to mimic it as much as possible! I'm committed to vaping and have converted several other people because I think it's the greatest invention ever, but I love my auto VOLT cig. I've never had to take a primer puff, and I have huge plumes of warm vapour as soon as I inhale.

I have manual batteries (I use them to drip when trying new juices) but I prefer autos. I also bought an Ego as my second kit the first week I started vaping, and I never liked it. When I got my Volt I was in vape heaven and don't feel the need to go elsewhere. My Ego never performed as well as my auto Volts. I don't think you need to have a big batt pv or a box mod to be considered a 'dedicated vaper'.

I don't mind switching out batteries every couple of hours. I have a bunch of them and a pcc, so even if I'm lazy I always have charged batts kicking around.

I've never killed an auto battery by overfilling; I just blow through the top of the carto and wipe the connector end, so it's never an issue.

I know I'm a minority here, admitting I like auto slim cigs, but they've been working out great for me, so I'm stickin' with 'em! lol.

Everyone has their preference - different strokes as they say... :)

IDK I've been vaping since last June and I still like to use autos probably always will at times..good to use when driving and when your hands are full too..I have 3 eGo's and 3 XL 510's autos...

Thanks for the info. Yeah I ordered my first starter kit from Volt, but I ordered automatic batteries, as I thought it was easier for a newbie. I should of joined here before I made the purchase last week.

I wouldn't worry but on your next order, grab one and compare. We have Volt's here as well and we bought a few of each. So far we still alternate between them. In reading through all of the typical complaints (vs. preference) against the Autos, so far they seem relatively unfounded...at least with the sealed Volt batteries. The fact that prior to purchase in doing the standard reading of four zillion forum threads and reviews that most people had positive comments is part of the reason we ended up buying from them. Of course as we've only been toying around for a week or so and have been switching between the batteries, there is the occasional time we put on a manual...forget it's a manual...attempt to take a puff and then go...oh yeah....the button. :)

Also, on the manual battery - if you put it in your pocket, purse, case, whatever, TURN IT OFF! I was on a road trip with husband, and asked if he smelled that. He said what. I said that burning plastic smell. He said no. I thought for 1/2 a second, opened my case, where I had put my eGo WITHOUT turning it off, like a dumba** and the button was being pressed. Melted my cart. Learned my lesson.

I'm with you. I use the Blu PV and am very happy with it. I have 4 batteries and two PCC's and chargers so I can have spares where ever I need. I'm refilling the cartos and have no desire to make any changes right now. I'll probably buy an eGo kit in the future, but right now I'm pleased with my Vaping experience. I'm probably won't go that route until my batteries start giving up the ghost.

I'm also new to vaping, I've only been at it for about a month. I started with a crappy convenience store battery and hated it, so I bought a better auto and I like that much better. But now I'm itching to try a manual. I'll be getting one in a few weeks and I'll compare the two to see for myself which one I like better.

I agree with those using the auto "slims". we ALL know they don't have crazy battery life, but they still last longer than 1 analog did. It's not really a problem unless you make it one.

Also, they don't just stop working now-a-days like alot of people say they do.

The only thing I don't agree with is buying from "The Evil Empire" (Blu).:)
