Hi guys,

I'm just learning about this amazing invention. I heard about them a couple years ago, but I thought that it was just a gimmick.

I've been smoking for about 7 years, I'm not a very heavy smoker, maybe half a pack a day.

I'm smoking this stuff now, Davidoff Ultra, here's a picture of it :

[EDIT] OOps I cannot post pics till I have 15 posts, bugger.

Basically it has Tar 3mg , Nicotine 0.3mg and Carbon Monoxide 3mg, Pretty light stuff.

What would the equivalent in e-liquid concentration be ? how many ml's should I get ?

What do you guys recommend for my first e-Cig experience, what model\brand, juice type ?

I want it to be medium in size, not like the screw driver, maybe I'll get that later on.

Also, I don't want to fiddle with refilling cartridges, I want pre-filled one, which are the best and what flavors do you recommend ?

One last thing, I'm afraid I'm gonna smoke this thing too much, is there such thing as an over dose ? How do I know how many (analog cig equivalent) have I smoked ?

I hope you can help me with this,

Thanks in advance ...

I would recommend a joye510. I have two and like it pretty well. The starter kits are fairly inexpensive. I would not recommend the prefilled carts. You will end up spending alot more money than you would if you just fill your own. You might want to take a look at the janty stick. It has a pretty big cartridge compared to the 510. As far as what strength liquid, I am not for sure but probably either an 11 or 18mg would probably be good. Also, as far as overdose, use common sense. You can feel it if you start to get too much nicotine.

Watch the video reviews, I did and the m40* series was the best looking and preforming. I still can not figure out why people say the 510 when every video shows them producing little vapor and inconsistent hits. Maybe I will buy one just to see. The 510's are cheaper but read and look around everyone says they stop working after a few months.

So watch and see, I think the few extra $$$'s for the M401 is well worth the money. Also, I only wanted pre-filled carts, I have like 30 pre-filled right now, just get a bottle of liquid. Pre-filled was not the way to go for me, after smoking about 15 of them. Now I just use pre-filled and top it off for a few days then toss them. 2/3 drops in them and your set for awhile.

I don't know what problems other people are having with the 510 but I have had none. I have been using the same two batts and one atty for about a month and a half with no problems. I think that people often post when they have problems with any model and you don't here anything when they work well. I am not familiar with the model you are talking about but I'm sure it is a fine model also. I don't know about the videos on the 510 but I get pretty good throat hit and vapor except when the battery is really low. I am going to build a mod with a 510 fitting for the atty's I have but it will have at least a 900mah battery. Really, the only complaint I have about the 510 is the battery life(1-2) hours. How is the battery life on the m40* series?

I have a 510 and I love it, it's the only model I have tried (I don't even count the Ruyan Jazz disposable). There is a learning curve involved in using e-cigs, I hope everyone realizes that before they give up. With enough tweaking and a mod here and there (Pyramid Tea Bags [PTB] as cart fillers might be the most valuable mod EVER) you will eventually get the hang of it.

Keep reading the forum, even though the amount of info (sometimes conflicting!) can be overwhelming.

Oh, and I was of the mind that I would only use pre-filled carts as well when I first started. I had my 510 kit for maybe 2 days before I ordered juice as a result of the carts not doing what I wanted them to do.

    Good luck!

Many new users feel this way in the beginning about carts vs. juice.

They also want to save lots of money by switching to ecigs.

And of course people don't want to "fuss" with the manual battery, but they also want a device that will give them tons of vapor and let them inhale for a long as they want. Not to mention, be impossible to kill by overfilling or overheating.

And then of course, there's wanting something that looks and feels exactly like a cigarette. But also works. Nevermind the difficulty of stuffing all those mechanical parts and pieces into something the size of a cigarette, and then expecting it to perform well.

Oh, and let's not forget - we also want it to replace our psychological and physical addictions to cigarettes so completely and immediately that we never pick up another analog again!

    Yeah, we're a needy bunch... ;)

At a certain point, I think you have to make a choice - something that has all the qualities you *think* you need in a PV, or something that actually gets the job done. Fortunately, around here there are plenty of people to point you in the right direction... :)
