Hello all,

Just joined this forum today after a about a week of lurking. I've been a 5 packs/week smoker for about 13 years. I have some questions for you veterans that can hopefully help out this novice. I purchased a bud ecig from puresmoker.com. Any comments? Just the starter pack. So I opened it up filled the cart with some juice (some leaked out), wiped it down and put it on the battery. Waited 5 min and took a few puffs. I love the vapor I'm getting from it. My main question is, why am I so lightheaded?? Not a bad thing, but I bought this to try and replace my smoking, not to get me high. LOL. Keep in mind I've been putting away about 15 Marlboro Mediums a day for the last decade. Is this normal? Also, did I put too much juice in to cause it to spill out or did I just load the cotton too fast? Sorry for the run ons and such, just looking for some friendly advice.

Steve

Hey Neighbor.. just over the bridge from you here on the Pennsy side. The manufacturer should have listed the nicotine level in the cartomizers or cartos you have. I'm not familiar with your set up but nicotine comes in different strengths. It is quite possible that the nic level is a bit high for you. Look into purchasing juice and refilling yourself. My other suggestion would be to drink tons and tons of water. Vaping is dehydrating and can lead to dizziness/dehydration rather quickly.

If you do not have a drip tip on top of your cartomizer or atomizer that is needed to keep juice from popping into your mouth and keep your mouth from getting burnt from the atty/carto. If you are using a cart (just polyfill and a plastic cover) they are prone to being leakers and I don't care for them at all. JMHO.

You may want to list the stuff that your kit came with along with a description or photos and we can help you to double check that you have what you need. Getting set up for the first time takes a bit of work but once you get it down you'll not want to smoke again.

Good Luck and Welcome to the ECF!

I have seen two particular problems that rear their ugly head when new vapers get light-headed. One, as Huffel pointed out is you may be working with a nic level too high for you. there appears to be no correlation to the brand/nic level of cigs and liquid. Seems counter-intuitive, but may have to do with "how" you smoked cigarettes. The other problem I see is that many new vapers love it so much they just vape, vape, vape - in other word they forget to breath or just take a brief break without vaping. We all know that if you did that with a reg cig you would end up dizzy and, potentially, a "hot boxed" cigarette. While many people seem to think that e-cigs have a learning curve and regular cigarettes don't, we actually did go through a learning curve with regular smoking.

Good luck and welcome

I'll second this. When you smoke a regular cigarette you take a drag, drop your hand for a minute, repeat, etc. You probably don't get more than 10 or 15 puffs and then do it again an hour or two later. With vaping, you don't have that automatic "time's up" that you get with a cigarette. You have to adjust your style.

Hey guys,

Here is my setup: BUDecig

Let me know what you think. I love it. Had for a week and I've only had about 3 regular cigs (analogs?) The lightheaded feeling has gone away. I bought juice from Johnson Creek, any opinions? I use the 5 carts that came with the kit and have been refilling them. I'm about 20 drops a day and not really having any cig cravings. What I want to do is use this starter kit I bought for work and commuting and buy something nice for home use. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi, Steve!
Welcome to the forums! I'm glad to hear that the light headedness went away! As far as upgrades go, there sure are a TON of them out there. I guess it all depends on how much you want to spend. Some of us spend more on this stuff than we did on smoking! Check out the various mods, higher voltage mods seem to be very popular as it is more satisfying in that you get a lot of vapor and a lot of flavor. There is one reviewer on youtube that demonstrates different juices at different volts, I found his vids very interesting... sorry, I can't think of his name right now.... Good Luck!
