New to ECF, came from ECR

Figure I'd make a quick post because I'm new here and need to get these 5 posts done. I quit smoking cigarettes with vaping in April 2014. I spent a lot of time on ECR helping new people and seeing where the industry was headed. I recently picked up a SX mini M class and found a lot more in depth information here rather than ECR. I was very impressed with the detail and extent of peoples knowledge on some of these subjects. I'm excited to contribute to the conversations, learn new things and help new vapers questions. I know things run differently here but I'll be able to adjust accordingly.

Anyone else come here from ECR?

+1 on your not spamming the forum to get in your 5 posts. That's the "rule" that gets broken the most by new members.

Looks like you only have one more post and you will have your 5 posts in. Once you have your 5th post (and the servers update at :25 past the hour) you will be able to start threads and post elsewhere on the forum. If you are trying to find your way around, here is a good place to start: E-Cigarette Forum

Reading the "stickies" at the top of most forums/sub-forums can be very beneficial as well.

I have never spent time at ECR so I don't know how things worked over there.

I have spent a little time in the subreddit as well (it helped me quit cigarettes 60 + days ago). I'm not in to politics or sub ohming, so I've been getting less out of it lately. Hopefully I'll be able to filter some of that out over here.

Youll find they are little less tolerant here of the shenanigans and attitudes, so for the most part its pretty peaceful and a little more structured. They actually try to keep things on subject. ( until me, buzz and asbestos hijack a thread anyways lol)

Lots of people bail out once they realize they cant just act like a 10 year old tool here and the mods wont allow free for alls.

Jason buddy, you might be surprised at how many people on other forums actually hate ecf becuase of that.

I know one that even has a section devoted to ecf haters and banned folks, reading some of the reasons they left is pretty funny sometimes and amounts too i couldnt be immature and act like an a## so i left.

Or the mods banned me for being a jerk

Or i cant believe im not allowed to rant and curse and post rude pics and all sorts of childish stuff.

I did lurk on quite a few other forums for a while, but I only look at them now when ECF is down (I hope you're reading this, ECF). Not gonna name any forums in particular, but there's one whose forum rules basically state "no rules".

Oddly enough that forum was created when that person was also banned from ECF with the stated goal of bringing ECF down.

Takes weeks sometimes to see any movrment in the subforums...


I read an article just last night that said reddit themselves has had enough and were now going to start moderating forums to get a grip on everything and exert a bit more control.
