I will be getting an ecig soon ( original blu) after reading tons, there is a few things I want to do but don't know if it can be done so with that, here is my probably many questions:
can the Blu battery support non blu cartomizers?
Is it a seald battery?
Can I refill with ejuice?
Will a converter from blu battery to smokingeverywhere gold work( is there even such device) (got gold from a friend no charger)?
Will the usb screw in charger work for other 510 batteries( not the one in the pack)?
Which one is more standard 510 rn4081?
Reliable "one stop" shop online?
Can I use a drip tip on blu?
Will blu support otomizer and other tips?
My husband is wanting blu because we have seen it work. I don't mind recharging thruout the day I don't mind having multiaple chargers or batteries that can't be used with blu charger. I would like to have cost effective interchangable or slightly interchangeable set up that can start us and keep us vaping as long as we can.

Welcome to the forums!

While I'm sure you will find LOTS of recommendations here I have a feeling that very few people with much experience are going to recommend Blu, not if you really want to switch. I certainly don't recommend them (or any similar product).

Read up on eGo/510 style devices instead.

While most of the people here won't recommend Blu, if it gets you started, then it is a step in the right direction. Blu tends to overpriced and underpowered, but it is readily available. And some people feel better with cigalike form, however most move on to at least ego style batteries. Good luck, and use this forum for research and ask questions, most of the people here are great.

As a friend gave me that set up with no charger some liquid to re fill blu some empty cartomizers to use. I am thinking that a drip tip would be useful aswell. get the blu's if you must, but if your husband is smart he will start shopping for a better starter kit before long. blu's are ok, but i fell on my face from them last year. if your other half is commited to stopping, do not let him put his future in the hands of the blu's. can't stress that enough. good luck and welcome

Hello, Kimberly, and welcome to the ECF boards.

While the Blu disposables and the Blu kit weaned me off of cigarettes in very short time, they were not very satisfying.

Long story short, I highly suggest that you take a look and read up on the Joyetech ego-c twist or something of that nature. The said will offer a much better experience.

There is much to read and learn about inside these ECF walls. Everyone here is quite friendly and extremely helpful.

Blucigs are what introduced me to vaping. I never could completely make the switch from analogs with them however. There were too many issues with them for my taste such as battery life and the inconsistency in their prefilled carts. I got an eGo Twist, a ViVi Nova, and a Splitfire in the mail a couple days ago and haven't looked back. Battery life is much stronger and I can control how much or how little vapor I am getting with the variable voltage feature. This has been a great help since different juices and different tanks operate better at different voltages. Either way you decide to go I wish you the best of luck, but imho you can do much better than the cigalikes at a comparable price with some mid-level pvs.

My husband basically has seen blu work so he knows it works. I want to get something that has lots of options and can have stuff added and changed as time goes on so I don't have to breakout the colored nailpolish I was looking around about ego and there is many versions. I feel the ecig is the new gigapet tomogotchi

I found the forum after I bought a Blu original. Wish I'd found ECF before I bought it. Ended up replacing it only two weeks after buying it. If nothing else, Blu is way overpriced. Like, for example, you could pop over to CigNot and get a Joye 510 for half the price of a Blu. I mention CigNot because I recently found them through the forum here and bought a 510-T system from them. Cost a lot less than Blu and I'm much happier. Check out the Forum suppliers section. Lots of good vendors who are known around ECF. Shop around and you can find some really fantastic deals.

Not very well. The Blu is very underpowered. Especially the "original". Also, the original is only about 80 or 90 mAh. The "rule of thumb" I picked up around here is 100 mAh is about one hour of use (more or less). The Blu originals run maybe 45 minutes. The Joye starts at twice that (like 180 mAh) and goes up from there (I'm looking to eventually get a eGo at 650 or more mAh which could last over 6 hours).

Can I refill with ejuice?

Yes but it's a pain.

And also no.

Especially the original Blu. The batteries are reverse polarity from everybody else. You can't use any other batteries with Blu chargers and can't use any other charges with Blu batteries.

510. That standard is just about everywhere.

You'd have to buy atomizers and whether they'd work on the Blu batteries, I dunno.

The cartomizer has the atomizer built in. So you can't "drip" with cartos. You have to have a separate atomizer.

Then you definitely do not want Blu.

The 510 standard isn't the only one out there but it's a big one. For starting out, I'd stick to a widely available standard like 510. I buy from different vendors, kind of "piecing together" my "kit", finding the best prices on the different parts and have spent less than a Blu starter. If I'd known how to do this before I bought Blu, I would have saved a ton. Also, by sticking to 510, I can "mix and match" a lot. I'm not stuck with any one company.

And Blu's cartos are expensive. They're a good $3 a piece (about $15 for a 5 pack) at stores and you can only get down to $9.60 buying direct from Blu if you buy four or more packs at a time. On the other hand, I just found in the Forum Suppliers section--Liquidxpress--has their pre-filleds for $7.50 for a 5 pack.

They're also just up the toll road from me. I can go to their store in person. It's worth poking around the Forum Suppliers section definitely.

It's definitely worth spending some time around here asking questions and reading threads. Wish I'd found this place first instead of after. I'm much happier with the kit I put together after learning what I was doing (well, more or less ) than I was with the Blu.

Which is being shipped to a new home. I'm giving it to a friend who just discovered the Blu disposables and almost bought a Blu.

By the way, the Blu disposables are not bad. If I could do it over again, I'd just buy disposables while I was learning about vaping here in the forum. Then buy a kit. I wouldn't have wasted so much money.

Hi! I'm new too, and I use Blu.

TheSteve already posted the link, but this has been my personal experience with Blu so far.

I had to return one "pack" because it wouldn't charge the batteries. They sent me a new one, and I know it was new because mine had a Sharpie "L" on it to distinguish it from my husband's pack, and they shipped it quickly.

I've had 2 batteries go "bad". The blue light would come on and stay on making it useless. One battery I took a picture and sent it via email to them then got on their live chat and they sent me a new battery and a 5 pack of cartomizers for free. The second battery I didn't bother with.

Other than that though, since those initial incidents, everything has been fine.

But I have learned just in my one day here on this site that I may have jumped the gun on choosing a product and buying all the accessories. There are so many different brands and choices, this was something I wish I would have taken more time to research before jumping in on one brand.

This site alone contains so much information, it's crazy. But there are awesome answers to be found here.

Well, show him the prices. Such as CigNot's Joye 510 verses the Blu starter kits. You could buy two 510s from CigNot for what Blu is charging.

And I'm using CigNot as an example because I got a great deal from them myself recently and they're a forum supplier and known around here. The Joye systems are available from many vendors. You're not stuck with any one vendor like you are with Blu.

Also, you can duplicate the Blu easily enough. Order "automatic" batteries (instead of "manual") and the Joye will work exactly the same as the Blu. Only better.

Though if you want to fill your own cartomizers, I'd get manual batteries. Automatic batteries have a hole in the center to detect the air flow when you "take a drag" so they can turn on. If you drip juice accidentally into that hole, you can damage the battery and have to replace it. I got manual batteries. They have a button on the side you push to turn them on. A little different from a regular cig but not terribly different. Also, not as easy to damage.

(And filling a carto can be kind of messy sometimes ).

And Johnson Creek makes Blu's liquids. So you can buy very similar flavors (not exactly the same but often better I think) direct.

Here it is in a nutshell... For *most* beginners a "cig-a-like" like the Blu ends up either two ways; the Blu user feels dissatisfied with the experience and *quickly* upgrades to the sort of system myself and others have been talking about OR they go back to smoking cigarettes. Very few cig-a-like users stay using them for very long I think. I like to know that I can pick one up at just about any convenience store in case of an emergency and I like to know that I can recommend that those interested in trying an e-cig can find them at just about any convenience store as well, but only after I reiterate what has been said here.

Kimberly, have your hubby and yourself read these threads. Then decide what you want to......the basic premise that is been trying to get across is......listen to somebody that has been down the road a ways. I wish I had....I would have saved myself some money and time. I don't regret that I was stubborn headed....it got me to where I am now, and the wife, and my son. We had a great Easter and I hope you and your family did too......We started with the Ego C kits....one month later we have Vision Spinners 1300mah and a combination of the IClear 16's awesome and UDCT tank clearomizers...flawless....awesome....and flawless...I said flawless twice for a reason...they are flawless. My wife and I laughed today saying after 15 years of marriage we finally have something in common. Take a leap of faith and come down the road with us....save yourself some money and frustration and if you don't listen to me...listen to the veterans on this board....I haven't had a stinkie since I received the kit in the mail....and I am not going back. Congrats brother.....EgoC starter....have gone onto Vision Spinners with IClear 16's and the flawless UDCT with the Smoketech 2.0 cartomizers....awesome. I thought the Ego tanks were fantastic....until I spent a little change and tried the Kanger T3's ...eeehhh...that's my experience

The one thing I'll say for "cig-a-likes" is for me they satisfied the "ritual" aspect of smoking. I even put a fake "ashtray" by the computer and caught myself "flicking ashes" sometimes.

I actually wanted to like the Blu. And would have kept it for when I was out and about if it hadn't been so... not great. And pricey. The cartos are insanely expensive. Everybody's cheaper. I mean everybody.

Heh, now I refer to the Blu as my "training wheels".
