So I'm trying to stop smoking. I never get cravings, but it's always just the habit of doing it. However the reason why I've been smoking cigs and hookah is because I like the act of smoking. I feel I've always been addicted to the feel of the smoke and inhaling and seeing how much I can blow out. Although, as a result, I do have a habit of smoking cigs now. So I'm just trying to eliminate the tar and ....ty smoke but still keep the act of smoking. I started buying the starbuzz esticks and I like those the best. However they only usually last a couple days, if that, and I can't keep buying them over and over.

So I wanted to know what would be the best one to buy as far as price, amount of vape, refillable/rechargeable, and most importantly ease of buying/replacing products. It's very easy to just type into ecig/hookah on google and get a million websites, but from what I've looked at so far each website looks kinda sketchy so I wanted to see what you guys have and where you bought them from. Price isn't that much of an issue but I've seen some for close to 100 and some for way less, so I wanted to know what's the average price of a decent one and how much do you think I should pay for one? Also, a reliable source to buy one. I've seen a lot of brands and having never tried one, they all look the same to me.

As for being portable, I've seen some that looks like you can only charge it via usb. Are these the only options with the ones like eGo? I wouldn't mind that if that's a quality vapor, although it being portable and the battery dying with no way to charge it (unless you have a usb car charger) then it comes useless.

And last but not least, modability. That's something I don't really understand because I don't have one obviously, but how can you mod these? Is being able to mod something I should look into when buying one? I mean I don't want to spend 70+ on something I can't truly enjoy.

I've heard a lot of good things about the ego-Ts so let me know if this is a good (or bad) and why?

And then I also read about one called the Inferno and this is over $70 and about 40 bucks more expensive than the one above and I don't understand why. (http://www.volcanoecigs.com/inferno-kit.html)

Someone also recommended an Ego 1200 mah vv and I know that means variable voltage but I don't what that entails.

Thanks for any help.

An Ego is just the style of battery, there are many different manufacturers, joyetech and vision are considered quality.

An Ego battery with a low resistance cartomizer or carto tank is a good starting place for a new vaper. The cartomizers can be filled with e-liquid of your choosing and are refillable.
The ego has a specific charger that has a usb connection but you can get wall adapters and car chargers as well.

The volcano inferno is what I used to quit cigs and start vaping, it is a rebranded ego but it is quality compared to others I bought. Your link was broken so I can't compare but I can tell you that the inferno kit is a solid beginning to vaping.
The inferno is about $70 but comes with everything you need to get started. I.e. 2 ego passthrough batteries, wall charger, cartomizer tank, 5 spare cartomizers, a bottle of e-liquid, a usb cable and a few other bits. All in all not a bad deal, but I googled a bit and found a 15% off code so my total with shipping was about $65 which is not unreasonable considering the setup

You may be able to spend a few dollars less buying piece meal but as a beginner I found it helpful to have everything ready to go.

If you want to look at some others there is a ecf forum suppliers link at the top of the page and all vendors listed are considered reputable.

Hope this helped! Good luck on making the switch!

I also recomend going with a "starter kit" as a beginner. It just makes it easy! Too many people try to piece their set up together and end up forgetting something small - but huge. Forgetting a drip tip, getting a battery that doesn't fit etc....

I always recomend to my friends to go with the Ego twist. It is SIMPLE and it works and will only cost about 50$ for the starter kit. You have a large battery that will last you through the day, and variable voltage. the vv alows you to customize your hit. My best friend puts his really low because he takes long, slow hits. I take fast quick hits so I like mine higher. Also, some juices just don't taste good when it is set too high/low - so you want variable voltage.

If you need a pass threw charger type, there is the smaller Ego - V. This has a digital display, smaller battery, but you can plug it in while you use it. It DOES have a USB charger as you said, but simple usb chargers are extremely cheap now. I saw a car charger with usb plug at 7-eleven for 10 bucks.

Good luck

Trying to cover all your questions. That inferno kit looks good enough but I can't say anything about the quality of that carto-tank or the cartomizers themselves.

Normally people would fill up a cartomizer (a tube stuffed with sponge-like material and a heating coil) and then just vape that. It lasts maybe a couple of hours and you have to keep topping it up.
To increase the total capacity of a cartomizer people started building juice tanks around them and poke holes in the side to allow juice to get in. The quality of the vape is highly dependant on the filler material, hole size and thickness of juice all working together. A thick juice (more VG = thicker) with small holes in your cartomizer will not give a nice vape and burn your cartomizer (when it's dry).
This kind of system does give an awesome vape under the right circumstances in terms of flavor, check for reviews on this one but it looks OK to me.

Variable voltage is great, it allows you to dissipate more power and so heat up your coil more. Some e-juices taste nicer when they're heated up more, and it often makes more vapor. I wouldn't recommend this to somebody just starting out though.

Ego batteries do all look alike and that's because almost all of them are. It's mostly little features that make a real difference like a battery charge color, variable voltage or USB pass-through (vape while on USB power). Most of them should live for half a year or longer and I don't think there's a big difference of that between brands.

Look for a KGO starter kit, they're good value for money. There's a plethora of ways to enjoy vaping but a basic kit like this and the one you mentioned are good starting points. example: KGO kit1100mAh by SLB
Each 650mAh battery should last you a day if you were a heavy smoker, 1100mAh easily over a day.
With Ego-type batteries like the inferno and KGO have you can stick anything on it with a 510 or EGO connection.

Now I know the inferno, like you said, is around $70. Could you tell me the difference between a $70 vape and something like the kgo someone mentioned below that's a 30-40$ vape? What makes the inferno worth that much more?
