New to fourms, have a question about e-liquid.

Hi, everyone glad to be a part of the fourm. I guess ill start off with a bit about me and then ask my question. I am relatively new to vaping. I was a pretty heavy smoker....Started off with the gas station ecigs, that didnt work. Then last Christmas i decided to start trying vape pens so i got myself a mini nautilus and a aspire cf vv battery and started vaping. That worked realitively well but still found myself smoking. Anyway i have recently upgraded to an istick 50w with an Atlantis tank and now im finally were i need to be and i absolutely LOVE IT. Im all in lmao!!

Anyway my big question is when i was using the nautilus i was using higher mg nic juices. Mostly 11-18mg. But since i now have the Atlantis and im blowing much bigger clouds im finding 3mg nic is the sweet spot. I have a bottle of Alice in Vaperland Twas Brillig 30 ml bottle Which has a 11mg nic in it. I have roughly half a bottle left and i like the flavor alot but when i use it in my new set up its too much. I was thinking about getting some VG from the Vitamin Shop and trying to dilute it down a bit to about 3mg. I know i will loose some flavor but i spent 22$ on it and dont want it to ho to waste. Any suggestions on how much VG to dilute it with???

Lets consider it 12 mg for simplicity. If you add 50% VG to the liquid you have by volume it will be 6 mg. reduce by 50% again and it will be 3mg. get the idea? And yes it will probably be pretty weak on flavor.

So by 50% do you mean if my 30ml bottle is half empty i should fill it to full with vg and that should cut the nic lvl in half???

I had the same situation when I went to a sub tank and I just picked up a bottle of the same flavor juice and combined them. If I am understanding you correctly, a 30 ml bottle of the same flavor at 0 nic combined with your half bottle at 11 nic (seems like an odd nic level, but...) should give you a nic level just under 4 mg. If you are good with 3mg nic, you should be good to go with no flavor drop.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest and have done myself on more than one occasion trying to find my sweet spot. Also due to some juice not being available in 3, if I really like it I will buy a bottle of 6mg and a 0 and mix it to make a 3.

Yes it will cut the nic level in half.
And NO it's a 100% dilution not 50%
50% would be filling your 1/2 bottle to the 3/4 level.

Be very careful if you start DIYing, we need to study and learn stuff first. Cheers.

Thank you all for suggestions! Was trying to avoid buying another bottle as money is a bit tight. Also Hitmetwice i definitly would like to get into the DIY eliquid but you are right i have alot more study to do first and i also feel like in the long run it will save alot of money but the initial startup cost will be a bit pricy.

You don't have to dilute the whole bottle at once. Try a smaller amount in a small bottle or directly in the tank.

Yes it will be a "bit" pricey but you'll probably have a few empty bottles already right?

You can start in small steps grabbing a small bottle of pg USP(5-10 bucks)
1,2 or 3 flavourings you think you'll like. ie. strawberry, banana, pear, peach etc.(3-5 bucks each)
Most folks also have a measuring cup in the house for large amounts of liquid.
I use a childs medicine dropper(5ml. maybe 4 bucks) for measuring mid sized amounts.
Any pharmacy should give you diabetic syringes for free, I just cut off the tips and use 'em for small amounts under 1ml.
Or you might spend another dollar or 2 on an eyedropper that has measurements on it for measuring small amounts.

I wouldn't advise even investing in nic base until you can make something you really like.

It can be as simple, or as hard, as you really like.
Most around these parts like to make it hard and expensive.

Best way to cut the nic level and not lose flavor is to dilute with 0mg juice of the same flavor. Def wouldnt recommend cutting it with just a base that will seriously dilute the flavor.

In addition to that, you can get 0mg juice to mix that has similar flavor so you can have the taste with the lower jolt.
There are several great suppliers that I have found from reading the postings. You may even find an exact match to fit your needs
