Hi all! Just got my first GG product...Odysseus!! This thing is awesome! Now I want like 5 more lol. Anyway, after watching Scots, Pbusardo's, and Imeo's videos, I built my first coil for the Ody. First question I have is that the videos show a different ceramic housing (I guess we got an updated version) with ceramic exposed down both sides. The one I got has ceramic down one side and ss down the other. Would I be correct in assuming that I can simply lay the wire under the wick on the ss side and do not have to extend it down between the nut and base? That's the way I built it and it seems to be working fine with no shorts or any odd resistance issues.
Second question is more of an observation...I filled mine up with some Boba's and had to open the juice control all the way to the stop to get it to wick consistently without dry hits or burning. I'm using a single piece of the wick that came with it and the pre made wire. I may try the 2 or 3 wick set up on future builds if anyone thinks that might keep me from having to open it up all the way. Also, with it fully open, I have not had any flooding, gurgling, or leaks in the last 2 hours. Would it be normal to have to open it up all the way like that for very thick juices?
