Welcome to the forums Cheap :)

Susan's pretty well got you summed up on places to start reading/looking.

I've been DIY'ing for about 3 months now, and it's been AMAZING. My biggest recommendations, start with only one or two flavors at a time to get used to the percentage of flavor *YOU* like (a recipe might state one quantity, but you may find you need more or less to get where you want to be.) The other suggestion is to start with small batches (< 10mL) until you get the hang of things. I'd saved almost all the bottles from my purchased juices and I just wash and reuse.

Love the flexibility and creativity with DIY. I can virtually make anything I want for pennies per mL, and I'll never have to worry about running out of juice!!!!!

Get your reading glasses on and do some diligence in the DIY section. Lots of great people over there to help once you get your posts in :)

DIY is fun, but just like anything related to vaping, front loaded costs. And dangerous if you don't read up on precautions. But man, making a 60ml bottle of stuff you really like for about $3 is awesome. Of course trying something that tastes terrible, then trying to fix it and realizing it still sucks is super frustrating.

those are great sites!
I never thought of making my own, although I know others have.
Sounds scary... Fear that I would invest a bunch of money into it and come out with something that tastes like what my dog leaves in the yard (either or). :p
I probably need to try more flavors out at my local stores, I have averted myself from trying too many.
Fruity flavors just sound nasty... smoke an apple? yuck.
I should probably try it though.

I've been making my own for quite a while now. Start off by buying smaller quantities and simple flavours. I have my trusty favourite as Apple and menthol. Nice and crisp. Only thing is to never go overboard with flavourings (especially menthol). It's easier to add a bit more to get it right than try to salvage something with flavour all over the place. :) I started doing it because I wanted to slowly reduce the amount of nicotine. I love vaping, but wanted to cut down the bad stuff!

Tip number one. Don't give up. If you don't like the first batch you might like the next.

Tip two. Get a mixing app on your smartphone such as ivape for the iPhone. It takes the maths out of it. And save every mix you make. That way if you like a mix it's easy to input the percentages again and make it in bulk.

Tip three. Save every bottle you've got so far. You'll be grateful to have a selection of bottles to use. I've got to the stage where I'll batch make a bunch of liquid maybe once a month. If you can do it big with favourite flavours it'll take the stress out of it and you'll find you make smaller different flavour juices because you want to rather than have to.
