So I just got my IPV4 from the classies. so far I am loving the device. Befire I even fired it I opened it up and removed the balance board voiding the shirt outta my warranty, but I dont want to run the risk of anything going south. and put my rda that was still built from my Sig 100+ on it. worked great in wattage mode with Kanthal, but seems to be hitting a touch harder than my Sig 100+ was with the same build at the same power settings.
Went out this morning to my local vape shop and bought some nickel wire to play with temp control. Got 28G and the cute girl behind the counter advised me to use MANY MANY wraps. wet on Steam engine and looked up the wraps on a .3mm rod for a .15ohm coil. wrapped it up and then added a few extra wraps so it wasnt quite as low. ended up with a .21ohm coil which is fine for me. got it installed in my twisted messes rda and put it on the IPV4. Set my temp at 350, joules at 30 and vaped away. great flavor, nice dense vape. Loving it... but then my cotton started burning. WTH? Anyone notice what I didn't do? yup... sure lived up to my screen name. I forgot to set the resistance in the mod. went to pull the cotton and also noticed that the cotton wasn't filling the entire coil. So i rewicked it with a little wider strip of KGD, used a dental pick to ensure the coils aren't touching each other and let it sit for about 15 mins and tried again. set the resistance and noticed that the mod originally had the resistance from my Kanthal coil still in it of .43ohms. Huh, wonder why my cotton was burning? got it set at the proper resistance, juiced up and vaped again. really liking it so far.
