This post is directed more towards people like...me! People who have been using rba's for a while but maybe aren't true "officianado's" with regards to them and have not had much experience with different gauges of wire etc. I know this post will be more of a "Duh! No $h!T Sherlock" for some of you who have been at this longer than folks like me so, I apologize in advance for the redundant info.

So, I just received my order of kanthal-A1 from Temco. Up until now, I had been using 32 ga. w/ my rba's...mainly cause that's what came with my first one. I thought it was ok as I had nothing to compare it to. Anyways, as I stated earlier I just recieved my new order and this time, I ordered 100' of the 28 ga. and 100' of 30 ga. wire.
I decided that I would go ahead and try the 28ga. first on my RSST.
WOW!!
First, it seemed much easier to get the hot-spots out; spent a LOT less time having to deal with that part!
Second, (and maybe it's just my perception) it seems to vaporize the juice much more efficiently.
Third, 28ga. being a much thicker wire; I found it much easier to handle/manipulate while making the coil.
I ended up with a 0.5 ohm coil and am getting a huge vapor plume consistently whereas the 32 ga. I started out with was sometimes hit or miss - always having to go back & adjust the coil as it seemed to move a little over time I think, due to expansion/contraction of the wire as it heated and cooled. The vapor is very thick, smooth and no metallic taste at all from hot-spots or the wire itself etc. After using this 28 ga. coil for a while, I'll try the 30 ga. and see what it's like/if I notice any big difference from the 28.
So basically in summary; I'll never use 32 ga. again.
Oh and, a tip of the hat to ........ with regards to Temco! They're good2go.
I ordered Friday the 19th and received my order yesterday, the 22nd. (2 days From Tenn. to Florida)
That's it! Just wanted to share my
of happiness!
Have a great day.
