Hello vaporizers,
Big thanks to everyone that posts here... I just completed my 2nd battery mod... this time 5v using the TI board... awesome.
I'm pretty new to vaporizing and all that goes along with it but I do have about 5 years of experience building and repairing guitar effects so the soldering iron is already my friend.
All of my electronics knowledge is self taught and audio specific but I'm finding out that just like with guitar effects the hardest part of a project is finding a good enclosure and fitting everything in. I'm looking forward to doing more mods as time allows.
I got all of the components that I didn't already have from mouser... they have a location close to my house so orders arrive next day. I got 510 connectors from altsmoke... got tired of waiting for a 510 battery to die so that I could build a battery mod lol... I used the eswitches that have the LED inside of the actuator which are cool
For batteries I got some 18500s and a charger from battery junction and I also have some 3000mah 18650s on the way... the 18500s seem to last all night on 3.7v which is awesome coming from stock 510 batteries. I haven't had a change to see how long they go on the 5v yet but I'm sure it's better than a 510 batt lol..
I have some mosfets on the way so that I can keep the current out of the switches... The mosfets we use in guitar fx are very low current so I didn't have anything laying around.
The enclosures are made from cigar saver tubes that I had lying around... I like to green it up by recycling, reusing and re-purposing as much as possible so I thought they were perfect.
All in all everything went smooth with no surprises other than great vapor
Anyway... thought I'd say thanks and post a pic.. hope this inspires more people to diy their own mods.
Regards, CB
