If you are getting onboard the
rba train, then the best thing to do is Invest. And what I mean by that is buy a multimeter and some wire clip attachments. This way it does not matter the wick size or gauge of wire your using (mostly)

Clip one lead onto the wire with a little leg room, and then clip the other lead on. Adjust the second lead back and forth until you get the desired ohms. i.e.
Next use you finger nails (if you have any) and make a small bend in the wire for a referance point.
Now all you have to do is attach your NR wire to the R wire at those marks you made. Now it does not matter how big in dia your wick is, it should come out at the ohms you measured out.
Easy peasy.
