new to mods

Hi guys

I have been using disposable e cigarette's for around six months now and decided to move onto more advanced versions

First I tried a vapourlites eGo 650, but got feed up with sucking juice into my mouth

I then tried a naturevape pro kit, but found changing the wick both messy and fiddly

So I bought an aspire nautilus atomiser with spare bvc replacements, to fit onto a segelie zmax v3 mod.

Now I know someone is going to say that I should use the search function to answer all my questions but the problem is that I am dyslexic, and find all this both very confusing and daunting to say the least!!

So.. My questions.. Please try and keep answers in simple terms due to my reading difficulties :)

1- do I need more than one battery?? I know I can charge mine but people on here seem to talk about batteries like they are always changing them around

2- settings ...??!!

Can I damage my atomiser if I set up the mod incorrectly?

2- with the items I have bought (segelei zmax v3 and aspire nautilus) is there an upper and lower limit I need to stay within for both wattage and voltage?

3- if so, can anyone recomend a good place to start, or does it depend on the juice I'm using at the time?

Thanks in advance guys. I'm sure I will be asking loads more over time, so please bare with me lol

Regards James

1. If you have two batteries:
a. You can vape on one battery while the other is charging.
b. If one battery goes bad, you can still vape. That would be unlikely, but it takes a day or two to get replacements.

2. It is possible to burn out an atomiser if you give it too much power/voltage. You will get a burnt taste long before that happens.

3. I don't know the Aspire, but generally 3.7V or 5.5W will be safe. It may be a little too safe. You will probably want to increase from there.

Note: You may have a common mis-understanding. You set either the power or the voltage, not both. They are two ways of doing the same thing. When you set the voltage, the power is whatever that voltage and the atomiser produce. When you set the power, the mod selects the voltage that will produce that power with that atomiser.

You can get by with one battery, but it is just so much more convenient to have two or three. personally I suggest three and a two bay charger.

You can burn out the coil if it is set too high.

The settings are either or. If you set the wattage the device will provide the correct voltage. If you set the voltage the device will provide the corresponding wattage

3- if so, can anyone recomend a good place to start, or does it depend on the juice I'm using at the time?
I personally do better setting wattage. I would start at about 7 and turn it up a notch at a time until you get a vape that suits you. My wife always vapes around 8 to 9.5 watts. I like a warmer vape and vape at 11 to 13.5 watts. If you turn it up too high you will get a dry hot or burned vape. You will know if its too high the feel of the vape and dry burned taste will be there.

Also the reason for the range of wattage has to to in part to what flavor we are vaping some juices can handle a higher heat than others. In my opinion it's best to start low and adjust up a little at a time until you find your sweet spot. Everybody is different and has different tastes so just play around with it and enjoy.

Happy Vaping.

This is the last post I need to make in here before I can post to the main forum

Where is the best UK website to buy all the different juices?

I have only used vapourlites, and the flavours are ok. But other people I know talk about cheesecake and sprite etc. I was concerned because someone told me that some sites sell juice that is not so good to inhale!? Or is that just BS ?

I have read that the v3 displays what level of power you should go up to, every time a different atomiser is attached. Is this true?
You're confused about the "variable power" or also called "variable wattage" mode.

When you set your wattage output in power/wattage mode (say 8 watts), the processor remembers the setting you chose. Should you switch to another atomizer with a different ohm rating, the processor recognizes the change, makes the calculations and resets the output so that your are still vaping at the intended wattage output.

There's a current discussion on this over here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/600343-where-buy-europe.html
The question was about European sellers, but most of the suggestions have been for UK ones.

There are minor concerns about some flavourings which are safe when eaten but not 100% safe when inhaled. Reputable suppliers are putting their houses in order or have already done so. Any risks are still far lower than burning tobacco, even for the same chemicals. (Who knew tobacco had butter flavouring in it? *shrug*) It seems that you can't just ask a flavouring supplier "does your flavouring have any of this chemical in it?" You have to say "give me a analysis report that says your flavouring has none of this chemical in it."

A new study verifies the lower risk-potential of e-cigarettes but identifies an avoidable risk

Thanks for clearing that up Baditude:)

Thanks for the video

So is the aspire nautilus an atomizer or a clearomizer?

It was listed as an atomiser from the site that I bought it from, but after reading another thread I'm not so sure it is one?

But then I read clearomizers have string wicks...but I'm confused as to whether the nautilus has string wicks????

My nature vape pro kit has a wick that I have to change...the reason for me buying the nautilus was to not have to change wicks

What ever it is, the coils are 1.8 ohms I believe

Do you recommend an upper limit in watts for my tank?

I'm worried I'll go to high and burn it out!!!

Or will I taste the burn before that happens?

Rurwin, again thank you....are you in the UK?

If so, is it allowed on here for you to link me you any sites you may use?

I'm not the best person to ask. I've not got into premium UK liquids other than Grant's Vanilla Custard. (He makes about one batch a month and it sells out in a few hours. It comes up on Google, but the next batch will be at the end of September.)
