Im new to rta i recently just got a pharoah mini and have had nothing but burnt. I got the 7 in 1 sample pack of coils from coilology and tried every single one it seems and two different wicks the one that came with the coil and native wicks. Im using a 60 vg juice wich i loved in my smok baby beast. And tried any where from 20w to 60w.

I make sure to heat the coil before the wicking is in ensuring even heating. I pull some cotton through and it sides through with little tension not enough to move the coil. Then i put a bit of juice on the coil and wick with out the tank and pulse it then i add more juice around 4-6 times. Finally i put the tank on close the juice controll and fill her up and open her. And still get burnt after burnt hit.

I went to my local vape shop and they said its just the cotton braking in and will go away after a bit. Its now 3 hours later and still bad as ever. Please does anyone have any suggestions i really want to start getting that amazing flavor from rtas that everyone has promised and i am about out of ideas

I opened the juice contoll completely i see bubbles from the cotton wicking. Initially i am running a bead across the top of the wick and coil let it soak up and usually run one more. Ive never heard of rayon before ill have to look it up!

Tho ohms from the sample pack are averaging .25 to .33 ohms

OK... So the JC sounds like it is Open. And the Ohms are pretty Normal. And I imagine you have tried opening up the Airflow Control.

That's Strange. Especially seeing that you said you are getting a Burnt Hit taste even at 20 Watts.

Just redid the coil after a friend from facebook mentioned i should spread the coil a bit, and after several hits at 35 and getting a little bit of splash back im getting hints of flavor not much at all though.

That's a whole lot of coil.

Have you tried just doing a Single Wire coil?

First off if you're discarding coils, don't or stop it's a waste as your coils will be good as long as they read fine.
secondly spreading the coils don't necessarely help, i use dual fused clapton coils,0 gap no hotspots they work great. When you wick, fluff the ends of your wicks before you put them in the holes, usually that helps wicking issues like these.

Most likely it's the amount or lenght of cotton going down into the channels....if the tails are too long you will get dry hits, or if there is to much volume in those tails, dry hits..or if you simply don't have enough wick in coil, dry hits...it takes time to work these out and every rta is different. ..in certain rtas I like it better with a bit more cotton thru coil, but then have to trim tails going down

I was pretty surprised that less wick in the tails can decrease dry hits, but it really can. It's more about your wick smoothly delivering juice to your coil, so while I use a fair amount of wick (rayon usually) in the coil, I find thinning out the tails and making sure they are thin enough that they won't get "clogged" I guess I'd describe it, where there is so much cotton, it actually doesn't wick efficiently because it needs to "suck up" so much more juice as there is more tail. Probably the first thing I would do is thin the tails some, that and try to balance your tails as evenly as you can. I don't always get perfect symmetry but I do my best.

For me at first it was counterintuitive that less could actually be more. I use rayon and I really thin the tails quite a bit. Although I'd also agree making sure your juice flow control is at a good setting for your build.

Hope you get it sorted out. I think from the pic that it may be too much wick.
