Welcome to ECF and congratulations on your new purchase/rebuilding efforts!

Thanks! Unfortunately I went to a b&m yesterday to get some help starting and getting any further required safety info. But they said they didn't have time :S so I spent an hour or so on YouTube and tried a first build for my rDNA/stillare clone combo and rolled a single parallel coil with the 30 gauge wire they sold me at the store, and tested it, it came out to 1.0 ohms.

Wow, what a crazy hit dripping gives! The hit was smooth and flavourful. So great

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

We like to hear members concerned about safety! What would you like to know? I have lots and lots of links to share. What batteries are you using?

I'm using a sony vtc4 18650. Is there a proper charging method? Should I get a seperate charger of can I just plug my rDNA in with the battery in it?

You can just plug it in and charge it.

However, you might want to get an external charger and a couple extra batteries so you always have a fresh one around.

+1 on the Sony's. You can charge either way -- I have not heard of anyone having a problem charging the battery while it is in the mod. Here is a video review of the rDNA by a well respected reviewer in the community: A PBusardo Review & Contest - The VaporShark DNAs

Sooo happy to hear about a new vaper with an RDA that is safety oriented!!!
takemetohyrule... Welcome to the forum!! You win best new member of the day award!! I'm loving that your first coil build was a 1ohm build and not a .1 ohm build!!!
Good choice on the VTC4 as well!
What are you using for wick material in your build?
You're probably also going to want to lower your nic level... dripping tends to be much more efficient at nicotine delivery than carto/clearo set-ups...

Thank you Kaezziel! Im still new to dripping and rebuilding and i want to be as informed and safe as possible! Along with quitting smoking, I've also found a fun new hobby! I would hate for an accident to ruin that for me :) I wont delve into sub ohming until i have the proper knowledge to do so. Though I believe with an rdna, i cant go below .5 ohms anyway!

The VTC4 came with my rDNA, and i think ill pick up a few more for times like now (visiting my friend and left my rDNA charger at home) where im using my MVP until i can get home to my charger. Im also not sure if I should use another micro USB to charge it (dont want to take the chance).

I went to the drugstore last night and picked up a package of Shiseido Facial Cotton. I peeled off the outer layer on each side, cut it in half lengthwise, rolled it up and threaded it through my coil.

I tried vaping some 6mg liquid and it was so harsh, so i just stuck to dripping the 0mg MAX VG liquid. Much better. Ill stick to vaping the nic liquids in my clearos

Very cool... and with the rDNA you don't really need to sub-ohm anyway... just turn up the power. Sub-ohm is really only necessary with mechanical mods anyway (it's a way to get around the lack of voltage/wattage adjustment)
VTC4s or VTC5s are both very good batteries that you wouldn't have a problem with... I personally would get a separate charger for them instead of charging through the mod, but that's just my humble opinion...

Cotton works well as a wick, but if you can find it in Canada give rayon a try (also called Cellucotton) and check out JeremyR's thread on it http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ck-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit.html
If you just want to give it a shot, send me a PM with an address and I'll put some in the mail for you... I bought a 500 ft roll for about $12 this past weekend (that's enough to rewick my dripper 10X a day for the next 10,000 years!!)

When I switched to dripping I went from 36mg to 18mg, then about a week later down to 12mg for about a month, and I'm now down to 6mg... not noticing any real nic withdrawals either! I'm still amazed at how much more efficient a drip set-up is as compared to carto-tanks!

I started off at 10W and went up slowly from there to see what difference turning it up made. Ended up liking it at 20W.

Oh my, thank you, but i couldnt ask you to ship it to me all the way in canada, shipping would cost an arm and a leg, i will go pick some up! thank you very much for the offer though, thats very kind of you.

Shipping wouldn't cost much at all... just put a few feet into a standard envelope and put a stamp on it. That would be enough for you to rewick for about the next year or two... LOL
See if you can find it... if not, the offer stands. It really wouldn't be any trouble at all....
