hello all!

I've been reading this forum nonstop since i found it a few days ago. What a great community you have here.
I am currently a 1 PAD camel crush smoker...and not super proud of it.
My extremely limited vaping experience consists of a couple of gas station disposables that I have picked up over the last couple months for situations where i wasn't able to smoke for extended periods.
I started with a Krave disposable pack that came with 4 cartos and 1 battery. This was my very first vape, and while i thought it was kind of cool, it didnt really satisfy.
I have since found a Krave 300 disposable at a local gas station...it is larger in diameter and longer than the previous model...but it only comes with the one battery and one carto.
Since i have next to zero experience, i won't wax poetic on the device...other than to say that the 300 better, gives a noticable throat hit, and actually has reduced my smoking a bit. It was this device that sent me to google to do some research on real PVs, and i came across this site...and i am so glad i did.
I have been smoking for about 6 years. Started out on cloves, and loved them...made the switch to normal cigs ("analogs" as i see them referred to here...lol) when obama decided he would take away the freedom of choice on the matter. Thanks, bud.

Anyway...i have made the decision to quit for health reasons. To be honest, i love smoking, the whole ritual and habit have become part of my life, and one that i enjoy. I am sick of smelling like an ashtray though.

So after stumbling upon this site and getting caught up in hours of reading, i am leaning towards the Volt from Smokeless Image. I am seeing a lot of good about this PV. Several people saying that they wish they'd found it when they quit smoking. All of the positive reviews and the EXCELLENT customer service i've seen have sealed the deal...now to find the cash!
Another benefit is that I am only an hour to 1.5 hours drive from their location! That makes me happy...If i can drive over and pick up supplies, i would be happy to.

vaping on my Krave 300 (lol) as i write this....i know that i'll laugh at it when i get my hands on a *real* PV, but this is better than nothing.

Just wanted to say hey to everyone.

...and...does anyone know of a decent Clove flavored juice? my wife still smokes cloves, and is intending to quit when i do...but i think she would be a happy camper if i could source something familiar for her.

Thanks!

Welcome! Good for you deciding to quit smoking. I have not had a smoke in over two months and I credit this forum to being a large part of my sucsess. Making a hoby/obsesion out of vaping was key in order for me to quit. Its fun finding out about and trying new stuff, and there is lots of stuff here..lots. Soon Im sure you will be saying "I love my volt but that variable volt bottom feeding box mod sure is cool" This after everyone will sugest you buy an eGo..myself included. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome to the ECF family. Congratulations on your decision, I'm also a new vaper and have enjoyed the transition to the e-cig. I started about a week and a half ago, and also began using the Volt. It's a great e-cig; It had a good price for the starter package and great performance. But I got the bite, and ended up also ordering a Riva 510, an EGo type PV. The Volt is good, but for the small analog-like design you also get a bit less power and less battery life, so I'd suggest you also consider other PVs if you think re-charging the battery won't be feasible to last through the day.

Whatever your decision though, it will be a good one. Good luck, and happy vaping.

Wow thanks everyone. I truly appreciate the support.
I don't think quitting is going to be "easy", but i believe that a PV is certainly going to make it easier.
I am intrigued by the mods and the larger devices, but also perplexed. I cannot see whipping one of those out in public without some seriously strange looks, and a lot of questions...If it looks like i am pulling a .... out, it might not go over well :)
At the moment, an analog-like PV appears more attractive...but i assume that has to do with the fact that i am still smoking analogs. Once i get off the cigs entirely, i will consider something else.
I have a lot of friends that smoke, and the social aspect is certainly something that i am taking into account....but since i dont have my PV yet...i may be jumping the gun :)
If i can make the time, i may drive out to Smokeless Image's retail store tomorrow.

Thanks again for the assistance. I think i am gonna like it here.

Once you're a non-smoker, the lure of wanting to look like you're smoking lessens..")
Sounds like you're off to a great start.

here are some of my current favorites, seems to be what your avoiding,
I started on a look-alike also.....:vapor:

Thanks guys.

I should be getting my Volt tomorrow! I am beyond excited. I NEED to quit smoking.
SI is out of stock on the PCCs, so i gotta find a way to tote it around. Anyone have any ideas?
The one reason i *almost* bought a Blu was the case...i already keep a pack in my pocket, and theirs looks killer.
I dont suppose the blu case would charge a volt, would it? is the Blu a KR808?

Do you know the price on the blu pcc? Any KR808 charge case should work. V4L has them.

Here's one
KR808D-1 Personal Charging Case in black

Here's one

KR808D PCC Charging Case - $21.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

I'd also try Bloog or Vapor 4 Life

You could always just get an extra battery

I got my Volt!!

This thing is bad ...!! I *love* it!
I drove out to AltSmoke - the retail store affiliated with SI and picked up my order, with some addl cartos, juice, and accessories. It was great. The guys in the store were awesome...answered all of my random questions (and there were a lot), i sampled some flavors, checked out some crazy PVs they sell...it was top notch.
I *highly* recommend this product and this company!

I drove about 2 hours after i left...the whole time with the windows up and AC on....vaping...not smoking. (quite an accomplishment, as i smoke more when driving than any other time)...it was great!

So thanks for the kind words everyone!
I cant recommend the Volt enough to someone trying to kick the analogs.
