Hello my name is Alex and I have recently started vaping. I was a 10 year smoker at 1-2 pad. It's all over now lol. Anyway I have done a LOT of research. Been reading up here for the last couple of weeks, watched videos, read reviews, etc. Have even purchased two mods. The tesla mod which is my out and about and the nem clone by hcigar. Using only Sony vct5 batteries. Started with the ce4, but I have purchased a kayfun clone, as well as the nimbus v5, and a trident clone. I know some people are big on the original thing, which if I had the money I would gladly buy the real thing. I am a mechanic in my spare time and only use the best car parts so I figured the same goes here. As which I have moved pretty fast through the process of moving up. I had a spur with the gen1 ecig look alike which was a failure to say the least but these new mods are far more effective and advanced. I am glad to join finally and contribute to others as well as the large pool of info, reviews , among many other things. I look forward to chatting with other folks about their gear, flavors, and anything else that may arise with the new membership to this forum. Thank you.

Hi and welcome! Congratulations on quitting smoking! I'm on day 19 now myself! I started out with the cig-a-like and that ended on frustration . Then I got my vaporizer. It was wonderful and I found vaping is far more satisfying than smoking ever was! I absolutely love♡ the flavors and I love not reading of smoke any more!! I kept my nicotine to a24mg so I was able to quit Very comfortably with out withdrawls. I smoked 2 packs a day for 25 years. My pv is just a simple kamry X6 1300mah multi volt. I'm not sure I'm ready for the mod building just yet. I have so much to learn first. I would like to invest in a nicer battery but money does not permit at this time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to the forum! This forum is full of some of the best people you will ever encounter. They are so helpful and supportive! I think you will like it here. I know I do! Well, again, congratulations on quitting and welcome.

Thank you sir, hey man whatever you can do to not smoke. Learning when and where to do it. How much to do it since it's so much different. I very highly suggest in investing in another battery. The sony bat. I have lasts forever in my tesla. I also started at 24mg and vaped it so much I started to get sick so I moved to 18 and can chain vape it all day. That has led me to have my first case of vapors tongue. So I still have some learning to do myself lol. Cheers.

Hey Alex, welcome and congrats. Looks like some great gear to find your Vape Path. A 15 watt capable regulated and a know quality clone mech. Your choice of batteries and gear demonstrates that you did your research well and have chosen wisely. Well done!! Very commendable.

If you haven't already done so, make sure and check out the Micro Coil Build thread. It's a great way to become a competent builder.

The only danger you may face is coming to see the value of purchasing authentic gear. It gets scary when one gets that realization. All of a sudden you want to blow 2 bills on a mod. Then you happen to see a highly sought after rba, that made it to your, damn wish I could find one of those list, and boom, before you know it you have confirmation of the purchase of xyz!! lol

Best place to get one's vape on is at the ecf.!!

Vape long and Prosper!!!

P.S.: the cat bites! ouch. !!

lmao, yeah, builds get better, watts go up, nic is delivered much more efficiently. Yeah, had to drop down to 12 mg nic, or walk around dazed and confused!! With vape, one always has to bend with the flow grasshopper.

Well thank you, I spent many hours of many days doing my research. I want to do it right, but also the more I get into it the less I want to smoke. Cigs have lost their power over me. Now the fda wants to ruin this. It's been 22 days for me, I haven't gone this long without smoking in 10 years lol. It's a pretty empowering feeling to have.

I'm a software developer, tech enthusiast, car/motorbike enthusiast who tinkers, wannabe guitarist with ambitions to build my own guitar and amp, etc.

I think the whole mod/hobbyist side of vaping really just sings to people who like to tinker; of all walks.

I'm in the process of designing my own mechanical and genesis style atty. Lathe it up. Even if I somehow ever made one good enough sell as a boutique product, clones wouldn't bother me. I don't think they bother many of the original modders either. A copy-cat clone is both a homage and free advertising to those who would consider buying the real deal. Well, depending on the level of commercialism I suppose. Most are made in small batches. Boutique markets are always niche. If I were so fussed as to someone cloning my RBA or Mech on the cheap, I'd be looking to supply both the real deal and the mass produced clone.

Thank you and definitely that would be very cool. Making an atty would seem like a very good idea. Kind of reminds me of an engine without the combustion lol. Air and fuel in, etc. Getting setup can be quite a challenge I've found really. Still need to get more stuff. Have a lot of extra money since I haven't been smoking, figured I'd plow it into vaping stuff. Thank you, I need to check out the DIY section b/c of the new fda plans.

I did the same. I was a roll up smoker for 10 years so thought my £20 per week was better spend building up the collection. Payday this month brings another batch of 'vape money' to the table.

Juggling bits of new gear, RDA supplies, DIY mixing, juices from top vendors and so on. I get mini-self-presents arriving every few days in the vapemail and all for the price of smoking. Far more entertaining; and I have at least got stuff to show for my investment rather than an ashtray.

But making a mod and atty combo is going to be the fun challenge where I can put skills I have into action. Thankfully, my old man is a decent electronics tinkerer, I'm precise with tools, and we can make things like battery chargers, vv/vw mods, usb pass-through devices and everything that is currently the standard. I plan to make myself a boutique vape-station; starting with a mechanical.

Oh that sounds wonderful, it's hard to find other people that are mechanically inclined like you and myself. It's good to hear. Good luck!

Like most, I started with a gas station e-cig. Ugh. Then Blu. That was ok.....but it was when I got my Twister and Kanger that changed it all for me. Glorious. I decided to try and use it first before lighting up and I found it really took the edge off. And I lost my desire to smoke cigs almost immediately. It just went from there......Only smoked 1 cigarette since I started. Done forever.
