New to the Vaping Scene.

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the vaping scene (I saw a friend of mine at a concert and showed me his ego-t and I was blown away) I use to be a pack a day smoker (Marlboro 27's) and since vaping, I haven't touched an analog. Well, I too have a ego-t, I have a 650mah battery, tank system, some smokyizers and some cartomizers (drip tips, dripping onto the cart). I got some questions maybe you "vaping pros" might know.

-Any battery saving tips? The 650mah can last me 6-8hrs depending if I'm vape chaining

-I just bought a 900mah battery for my ego-t and, the button (the one that lights up) is blue and its constantly on while charging. My 650mah the button led isnt on while charging but the 900mah is. Different battery?

-Should I invest in a passthrough? I kinda want the one that isn't a battery but just a
straight usb 510 passthrough.

-I've been using the batteries until they're completely drained, is that bad for the life of the battery? Or should I charge it when ever it's not in use? Should I also 5-click it off (to save battery) when not in used, or it doesn't matter because the button isn't pressed?

-How do I add that "I havent been smoking banner" under your profile, lol.:laugh:

Thanks and Happy Vaping!:p

I'm far from a pro. That being said, I have had batteries last me for quite awhile.

I'd use my ego and when that battery died, I had 3 of them already charged, so I'd put the dead one on the charger and it would be ready to go long before I needed it. Running them dead and charging them to full, seems to work just fine, and when operating properly they hold a charge pretty well.

I've had quite a few ego batteries, in 650,900,1000, and 1300 mah sizes, and for the purpose of what I'm talking about. The ones I will be talking about are the Joye batteries. Every one of them that I owned that worked properly, when put on the charger would blink about 4 times and then the light would go out, and the wall charger would have a red light. When they are fully charged, the charger light goes to green, and they are ready for use. I'd find other "light" behavior strange myself, even if the battery was working as intended it would make me suspicious. Your 900 mah battery doesn't seem to be operating as intended to me, and I've never had one charge with the light on constantly.

I did buy a couple of ego batteries that all they would do is constantly flash after a couple of days of use. I put them in a window for a night, before I sent them back, so I can say not all of them come out of the box in perfect operating order. I called the vendor, and they were nice enough to send me replacements for them before they had received the original batteries back.

It gave the vendor a laugh, as they were still blinking in the box, both when I shipped them, and when they received them, so the power usage on the light itself cannot be very much.

The 5 click feature in the newer batteries seem to me to be more of a safety feature, so you can put them in your pocket without firing the atomizer. The batteries get used as you use the ego, and they don't normally drain when not in use. I've found most of the ones I used lasted about 1 hour per 100 mah rating, of course that depends on how heavily you use them.

Many of the non smoking banners you can find, by clicking on the banner itself. You can add it to your signature, and it should operate until the link for it breaks.

I hope the information is useful.

Welcome first off. In regards to your battery issue, I would recommend contacting the vendor just because the battery itself may be constantly discharging which could A)Ruin the battery and charger or B)Cause the battery to blow up. Neither of those are good issues so yeah get that checked out if you can.

As far as battery life goes, it is what it is. That is a pretty good time range you've got if you vape kind of heavy. Think about it this way, would you rather lose a little time charging or cheating yourself out of the time by continuing to smoke cigarettes.

Passthroughs are cool as long as you like being on the computer a lot and it will save your regular batts charged for outings and such.

As far as waiting for them to die before charging, batteries in the ecigs anymore do not have residual memory for battery life so it won't affect the life of them. They won't last forever anyway but better to have them charged than run out of juice at an inconvenient time.

Heyas Ematic,

Welcome! I have to agree with everything Cyatis said.

Couple things to add. My joye ego-t 650mah batts work the way you descrbpe. When I attach them to the charger, the light on the batt blinks a few times then goes out.

I have some 1000mah "ego-t" batts that I ordered from china. They look almost identical to the joye ego-t batts (except for the size of course), with a few very minor cosmetic differences. And, when charging, the light blinks then stays on until it's charged. These knockoffs from china seem to work perfectly well though. I'd rather buy joye batts, but I got these for about $12/each, and couldn't resist the bargain :p

On passthroughs, I have one, and like it well enough, but don't use it often. If you get one, be sure to pick up a 2A usb wall tap for it, or use it on your computer usb port (which option always makes me REAL nervous. Plug some random tech from an unknown chinese manufacurer that draws lots of current into my gaming laptop... *shudder* ). I tried the passthrough with a 500mah ish wall tap, and got almost no vapor whatsoever.

A good deal on an inexpensive, neat little passthrough is USB Variable Voltage Passthrough for less than $16 + shipping. I don't think they're on the ecf vendor list, but I've ordered from them and they had great service.

Happy hunting,
Maximillian the Vaguely disreputable
