Hello, I picked up my first e-cig about a week ago. I'm using an njoy Ncig penstyle and my wife has a DSE-801b that just came today(Just out of curiosity, are these the same basic design? They seem to be, aside from hers looking cooler). We've been experimenting with refilling but the results seem mixed in terms of vapor production.
The method I have been using is to remove the wool filling, drip 4-5 drops into the bottom and then put the wool back in. I then smoosh it around with the tweezers until it becomes saturated and drip a few more to top it off.
The problem is that vapor production seems to vary heavily(Always is fine right after I've filled), and I've had a hard time getting a good throat hit(May be the liquid. Using Janty, though I got a good throat hit when I dripped just to make sure it wasn't my atomizer). I seemed to get better performance off the prefilled Njoy carts(Despite their menthol flavor getting really old while I wanted for my samples to come in). I do find smishing the wool around in the cart periodically helps. Am I doing something wrong in filling? Too much juice, too little? Trim the wool down? Help!
Also, are there any problems with pre-filling carts? Does the juice evaporate out? How long can I reasonably keep one filled and in storage? I filled 4 carts for work for the next couple of days, if I keep 'em in a plastic bag in a drawer, I assume I'll be fine?
Last question(for now anyway)! As throat hit seems to be as much a function of power output as it is the atomizer and liquid(From what I've read anyway), I'm considering getting a USB passthrough(Plus, saves me from battery use at work and home). Do the passthroughs put the full 5V/900ma into the atomizer(Or whatever the maximum power of the atomizer is) or is it less? I don't want to end up with a Screwdriver. It's advocates are...scary.
Also, any recomended sites to get a DES901 or DSE801 passthrough? All the ones I find are coming soon or sold out.
