Hi guys and gals!

I have been lurking around the forums for countless hours trying to gain as much knowledge as I could about the world of vaping. I thought about switching from analog to PV's a while back, but they seemed to be very expensive and most of the reviews were very bad so I decided I would wait. Well, I am back again trying to do some research and for the most part it seems that the tech has come a long way since then.

A little background about me : I would love to quit "smoking". I have tried the gum, patch, chantix, etc., none of which worked for me. I believe I enjoy the "act" of smoking too much which is why I have failed numerous attempts to quit. I am currently a 1.5 - 2 PAD smoker.

Here is my problem.... Even if i spend days looking at products, reviews, etc(probably not even scratching the surface of what is out there :p ), I'm not sure I will find the best "starter" pack for me. I'm not rich and cant order a lot of items to test out right away.

I am kind of a lazy smoker, and am looking for something that can supply me throughout the day without any(maybe this isnt possible) hiccups , because I'm almost positive that if the unit failed or was too aggravating to deal with, I would fall back to analogs, which I don't want to happen.

I am looking at the Ego-T system. I like the idea of a tank and it has gotten some really good reviews, and ofc a few bad ones. I like the idea(correct me if I'm wrong) that it is a 510 system? so there will be a lot of interchangeable parts in my future purchases where I can save some money and try new things, etc.

Any insight, expectations, or hints you vets could give on products for a noob would really go a long way for me.

Thanks for reading and I hope I can dive head first in the world of vaping!

You're done your homework, nice job. Egos are indeed 510 threaded and so can use a wide array of accessories. Get one that's got a longer battery life, and you'll possibly need to charge it daily at most.

What I'd recommend for you is to get that system but also at least two 5-packs of Boge 510 2 ohm cartomizers. A lot of people have had leakage issues with the Ego-T, issues with thick liquids wicking, etc. You may have great results, you may not -- a lot depends on what juice you use with it. But getting the Boges for $15 or so will give you an excellent backup.

I switch back and forth between using the T tanks and cartos when I'm on the go, depending on what juice I'm bringing. I usually keep a backup carto on me in case of an issue.

The Ego T system is a great system. There is some maintenance required. It is not too bad but I would suggest the Ego C system.

This is the system I am currently using. The maintenance is a little easier in my opinion.

It is also a 510 system so many interchangeable parts.

The thing I love about the ego C is that you can buy a pack of atty's for around $25 and instead of doing weekly cleaning of atty's I will go 2-3 weeks switching atty's and then clean them all in one day.

With you being a 1.5-2 PAD smoker You will most likely be charging your batteries every day. I was 1-1.5 PAD smoker and with running both batteries I had to charge them both nightly.

The eGo-T is a 510 thread ecig, but there are two variants. One is called the 510-T and the other is called the eGo-T. The eGo-T uses larger batteries that last longer and will support most any 510 thread accessory (due to current supplying capacity). That's the good one. The 510-T uses a smaller battery that resembles a cigarette size and doesn't have the current capacity to support the better options in atomizers and cartomizers.

The eGo is widely used around ECF and you will be happy with its purchase. There are many other options in vaping, such as variable voltage mods, but we all need an eGo class ecig to fall back on from time to time. For many, it's their main daily vape.

I also second the suggestion for Boge 2.0 LR cartos. These are the trouble free way to get great flavor and reliability from an eGo-T battery. A pack of 5 costs around $5 and will last you more than a month if you use a high PG percentage juice. They don't leak and are easy to use. You use one for 5 to 7 days, through it away, and start another. Filling them using the condom method for the first fill thoroughly saturates the filler. After that, you can pop off the mouthpiece cap and top them off from time to time with a bottle.

This is the starter kit I have been recommending lately. It is reasonably priced, has a large battery, 1100mah, and comes with a choice of different kinds of cartos. I recommend starting with Boge 2.0 cartos. The battery is large enough to allow you lots of room for experimentation later, but is simple and easy to use. You would only need to buy additionally samplers of juice so you can find your favorite and a Drip Tip for comfort on the cartos.

My advise would be to get a kit that comes with 2 eGo 650mAh batteries or higher + charger. This will avoid the frustration of short battery life. (Most of the ones I'm seeing now are 1000mAh and up). Hopefully you can find a kit that comes with boge 1.5 cartomizers or equal. The cartomizers are easy to fill with no fiddle factor.

Now all you need is some juice and you are all set!

I think everyone should start reccomending the Ego-C and stop reccomending the Ego-T. The new design has eliminated all the fuss the Ego-T causes new users.

The eGo-C looks good, but how is it on leakage? How long does an atomizer last? The design looks really good. I would just wonder if the atomizer seal and the issues with the tank cartridge have been solved.

Hi, I am new too and have spent the dollars you dont want to. I bought the 510 ONE for Myself, the Wife and her Mother. The 510 has worked out great for both of them for just a little over two weeks now but right off I needed more power so I got the eGo T with 900 batteries. I was using 6 (recharged) batteries a day on the 510 and only change the eGo battery once a day using about 3ml of juice.

Both the 510 and eGo can use tanks or cartomizers and the eGo stuff has larger capacity so less filling changing. The gals like the more cigarette shape size over the cigar but my Wife is thinking about trying the eGo at home for the rich warm vapor the Dual coils provide, makes for a yummy waffle. The tank setups use a Tank Atomizer that I think if cursed by two problems, first is the cost at about $7 each and second is the lack of vendor provided wicks to be able to rebuild them. They are easy to take apart so you can dry burn the coils to remove the gunk that builds up but not having a replacement wick without rolling your own so to speak is a fail for me. There is the eGo C model that has a replacement atomizer part but even still that is $5 which is too high when you can get 510 Cartomizer for as low as a dollar and ECHO E dual coil Cartomizers for about $3 each.

The 510 carts will hold about 1/2 a ml or so and the ECHO will hold 3 mls so depending on your usage that should give you an idea of how much attention your eCig will need. Our 510 kits from AquaVapor came with a PCC which is a charging case about the size of a smoke pack and on a full charge will recharge a 510 battery about 10 times. No big deal really, just have to change the battery and you are off and running again but can be annoying when it runs out in the middle of getting your fix and you will want to carry the pack with you. With the eGo you just need to keep a spare charged battery nearby for that one or two times a day (depending on how hard you go at it) when they will need changed.

My advice would be if you dont mid the cigar size for your eCig would be to get the eGo T starter kit and a few of the ECHO cartomizers linked above so you can try both as YMMV but I lost two tank atomizers in the first two weeks and the DCT (the clear tank with cartomizer inside of them that cost about $10 but the steel cart can be replaced for less than $3) along with the ECHO cats are going strong and both vape very nicely. Add an extra battery so you have three, a carrying case and some juice and you are all in for under $100 and good for a month or longer. From there since you have the charger and batteries you will only need to buy cartomizers (or DCT carts) and juice so cost could be as low as $30 a month or even less depending on usage and how the carts hold up, tons less than smoking any way you slice it.

Something I want to say also since this seems like something you are exploring. The day we picked up our kits from the post office was the last day we smoked. Have a pack sitting on my desk that is now over two weeks old and before that we were going through over 2 packs a day between us. The wifes mother continued to smoke one or two a day for about a week then quit completely. Last week I loaned a 510 and eGo setup to her Brother and his wife and they have not smoked since that day other than his wife taking one puff just to see and she found it offensive. That is five people right there and not one of them that gave it a serious go feels like they will ever want to smoke again. For me I was a PaD+ for nearly 40 years, the last few years I have had coughing fits in the night and wheezing when I laid down. When I would walk any distance at all over 1/4 mile my lungs would burn and leave me huffing. Since about the second or third day not smoking I have not had one coughing fit, lungs have not whistled or wheezed once and yesterday my wife and I took a wonderful 1 1/2 mile walk and we both felt like we could just keep on going.

So all that said, I can understand the situation as you mentioned as far as not having tons of money to blow trying to find what will work for you but if you are spending 7 to 10 dollars a day smoking and this eliminates that for you the monetary savings alone make it worth scraping together the investment. The health aspect is priceless.

Best wishes for the rest of your life.

I have been using the Ego C since december 17th and it has only leaked on me once. The issue I had was kind of my fault. The tank got really low and when the air bubble hit it forced the liquid out. (think DAS BOOT from beer fest)

An atty will last me a week before needing to be cleaned. That is why I suggest picking up an extra pack of them. you will have 7 and you can clean them all at once every 3 weeks. (30 minutes while watching tv)

Here is the kit I am using. it also gives you the option to upgrade the batteries from 650's to 1000's at $4 each.

The information and options are so overwhelming.

Ok so ive narrowed down that i want a 510 system or the ego system(also 510?)

Would you suggest buying the eGo system just for the batteries that it comes with and also buy some carts and juice?
or the plain 510 system + carts + juice?

I really don't even know if im comparing these things correctly.

I just want the most bang for my buck right now and the possibility of having a system that is the most care free and has the most options for interchangeable parts for the future.

Also, With carts, you just refill them with juice until the atty burns out on it?

kgo. no fuss, no hassle no issues with burnt taste, leaking etc.. that you usually get from the ego-tank systems. just add juice and go.

SLB KGO Starter Kit

also when selecting cartomizer ohm rating go with the 2.0ohm's cartomizers. more vapor and warmer vaper, better throat hit and flavor. enjoy.

they are out of stock currently but hossier has some.

http://www.hoosierecigsupply.com/KGO-kit-1100mAh-by-SLB-HEC001.htm

the cartomizers come prefilled unlike the other kit from darkcityvapor.com. just buy a few extra packs of empty LR cartomizers, some juice and fill them and your done.

just stay away from the ego-t whatever you do. i hear ego-c is better but even so, if you dont have money to burn or have the will to fiddle, then cartomizers are your best bet. many many people have issues with the ego-t including myself. very few people have had success with them.

Nice find! The KGO have 510 threads, right?

so KGO and EGO systems are both 510?

If so , it wouldnt matter which one i buy because they both use cartos as well if I wanted? But the ego gives me the option of using a tank, if i so desired?

Only reason I ask is i may be able to find better packages from different websites for each one mentioned, thus keeping my options open for the price I'm looking for.
