Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and thanks for the heads up on various issues primarily battery safety.
Though I'm fairly new to coil building, I have done copious amounts of research. I use the 'Steam Engine' website for calculations and right now I'm not into mech mods, I build fairly standard coils to use in RTA's, rba's and I have one RTDA which are all used on a chip controlled 'box'(?) mod and check the coils using an ohm meter prior to actually firing them. So I'm assuming I'm fairly safe.

Thanks again for the warm welcome ... Oh.. anyone in China on this forum?

Welcome to you!! Yes, a lot of info here to read. It does help, but I don't think there is only one way of vaping, although, safety is wise. Glad to read that your conscious of it. I have a mech, but, I learned the good and bad, for me, and it now sits in a drawer/box somewhere.

When I switched from factory coils to rebuilding I stayed predominantly with the factory coils and went slow...and safe. I basically did one build, I think I was working towards 1.5 ohms. I didn't get 1.5, but I continued to learn why and how to play with the variables. Now, I have builds in my head and I adjust at times, but for the most part I go with them to that same ohms. Again, and BUT, I determined that different flavors seemed better at different builds. (sigh)

Cigs were so boring. Vaping, be it coils, mechs/regulated, flavors, etc. is such a big world and a healthier endeavor.

Oh, no I am in Arizona. Happy vaping. *waves* (across the Pacific)

Cigs? boring ? I never knew this whole new wonderful world of flavours was available until I tried vaping and I'll never go back to cigs - so hell yes, cigs ARE BORING, Boring people to death, literally.
Anyway, that's my anti smoking rant over.
I like you have been through most things in vaping including cig-a-likes(?) through EGO and various other things but never as far as a mech mod, they do seem a bit out of my league.
I still have a couple of sub-ohm kits that still use factory coils and enjoy them for their convenience and ease of use, My AIO is still in almost daily use.
