I received my Phoenix reborn package yesterday, I followed the directions and the video, all went great. I am having a problem when I use the device and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I purchased the 510 2.4-2.6 bottom coil Reborn Cartos and am using them on my Provari. I did the primer hits and ended up with a dry wick taste, I let the carto sit and did random dry hits on it for about 5 hours to draw the juice into the carto. I tried again and after a few great hits, I got the dry carto taste/burning throat taste again. I have my Provari set at only 3.4 when this happens, when I take my Provari up to 3.8 I still get the dry carto taste and also the base of the carto that screws into the top of my Provari starts smoking as well. I've also tried using the carto on a simpler device, my Twist, and had the same results. I am new to this carto and would appreciate any help in understanding what I'm doing wrong so I can correct it. Thank you :)

If you are using a really thick juice that may create this issue, although I have used some pretty thick ones successfully. Try squeezing the tube a bit with your fingers. You will see some air bubbles come from the wicking area. You are virtually forcing liquid into that chamber when you do this. Maybe you are airbound some how. If so this squeeze should get it going. If it floods just blow out the excess it out in a paper towel.
If not I would try another carto. Maybe you got a bum one. Let us know what happens.

It kept giving me dry wick hits, so I just filled a new one with a different juice. I'm going to prime it up for a bit before I fire up the device and give this another try, hoping I get it right this time :)

Hopefully this one works for you. If it does you can always pull the first one apart and see if there was any visible issue. Maybe a too tightly or too loosely wrapped coil. They come apart fairly easy. With the base attached to a battery snugly just wiggle and pull the plastic tube up and off. It'll come, some easier than others. If nothing else you'll get a first hand look at the innards if you have not seen them before. They reassemble easily too. Many folks take em apart to clean them when needed. You'll be amazed at how simple they really are.
Have you tried a T3 yet? They are bottom coil also and I have heard very little complaints on those.

I haven't tried a T3 yet. I do have a couple of T2's that I was not happy with at all, no matter what I did they wouldn't wick. I still have juice in my T2's and they have sat for a couple of months, I pull them out from time time and try them again and still have the same issue. I seem to have bad luck with tanks, cartos, and clearos lol. I don't think it's the companies, I really believe it is me and my luck. I've tried so many and ended up with the same problem with all of them, but I keep trying :)

Out of curiosity, how would wicks sticking out of the base cause dry hits? You'd think more wick exposure to the juice would only help.... But, at the same time, I've purchased CE3s from two other vendors, hoping to get the old ones, but getting the new ones instead, and I've had dry/burnt hits out of every one. I never had a problem with the old CE3s, even with the wicks protruding from the base. I rinsed and dry burned, and pulled the center tube out a little bit, too. But this only seems to help temporarily.

On a side note I wrote BetterLife Tech and asked them if they still make the old CE3s. Here is their response:

We won't produce old ce3 anymore.

Cause new ce3 is good for producing

also we not change so much .

we will pay more attention on producing , producing have some fault .

so some is not very good

So is that an admission that there is something wrong with the new CE3s? I bought some from GotVapes back in October and they worked ok, flavor was inconsistent, but no dry/burnt hits. The two batches I bought within the last two weeks (not from GotVapes) have been nothing short of horrible.

Good info fatcharlie. I just for the  of it, loaded up a CE3 (Original) with some Boba's and it vapes just like I remembered they did-Nirvana. With the Kanger T3's, all my CE3's have been broken down, cleaned and put away until either the world ends or our illustrious government decides to tax us to death, instead of the rich and shameless (which we will know in about 48 hours). Anyway, I was smart enough to buy a crapload of the old schools prior to the "new and improved" versions. I am doing the same thing with the Kanger T3's in anticipation of another Chinese brain storm to try and re-invent that wheel.

Anyway, I have a few vendors myself I have held in "reserve" to obtain the original CE3's if doomsday arrives, and I feel my juice selection outweighs my CE3 stash. Would you mind sharing via PM, those vendors you know for a fact no longer carry the old schools?

The saying "If it aint broke, don't fix it" must be Japanese to the Chinese:facepalm:
