Hi everyone!

A little background, I quit analogs about 8 years ago, but the cravings started haunting me recently. My friend started vaping, and once I tried it, I got hooked and bought my first starter kit. And been vaping for about a month.

My current setup
2x ego-C upgrade 650 batteries
1x vision ce4 cartomizer (the other burned out)

My question:
I'm getting confused on which clearomizers I should buy? I read about the innokin iclear 16 dual wicks. I bought 2 only to find that they work better with vv/vw batteries. They don't produce the same amount of vapor that my cartomizers produced (plus I'm not sure what ohm resistance they are). I was reading about the vision v3, kanger t3, and potentially the mini nova. Any preferences? I was starting to lean towards the vision v3 since the cartomizers I was using were vision also.

Also, since my battery (I run at the constant output) is a 3.3V, I should either get a 1.8 or 2.4 ohm resistance atomizer. Any thoughts regarding this? I want to make sure I have my info right before I start buying online.

Thanks for the input! I look forward to being a part of the community.

I agree. Running 3.3.v it's probly best to stick the lower ohms. I have a 1.8ohm vivi nova and run at 3.7v for best results.

I like the Kanger Evod. This is a bottom coil unit so the TH is a little cooler. Also the draw is airey. My favorite would be the Vision Vivi Nova. This is a top coil unit, warmer TH, and has a stiffer draw. There are Vivi's out there that are not the name brand Vision. They draw different yet, and some have shorter wicks. I would suggest buying Vision for quality, but no biggie. I also order more than one tank so I can load different flavors, and have them ready for stanby. If I was to do it all over again I would buy 5 Vision Vivi's at 1.8 instead of having the mixed collection I have now.

I think it's going to come down to preference as the clearo people, the vivi nova people and the protank people all like what they like, but you should also consider how the device looks. The kanger protank looks a bit weird and is top heavy, you wont be able to stand it up probably. A lot of protank people use or used to use the EVOD but I've not tried it.

I prefer the vivi nova. You'll see a lot of dry hitting reports etc, but I'm pretty convinced this only applies to the regular sized novas. I have the mini nova ...7 of them and they never leak and i've only had a few dry hits.

It depends on whether or not you enjoy a cool vape, warm vape or airy draw, tight draw. Been using the Vision brand Mini Vivi Nova 1.8 ohms for 11 months+. With proper care (washing and dry burning the heads) my heads (wick+ coil) are lasting 10+ weeks. Still firing great but the wick begins to degrade. Heads cheap ($2.00) and easy (10 secs) to replace. Here's a very long and detailed vid regarding the maintenance of the Vivi Nova which really is good for any clearo with a head in it. Make sure you get the Mini as it looks best on an eGo class PV. You may also want to pick up a sleeve to cover the threads:

Realize PB is using the larger 3.5 ml Vivi

Best of Luck.

Hi MarLoda, welcome to the forum. Congratulations on you month of adventure.

Where did you find out that the iClears work better with VV/VW devices? iClear16 resistance is either 2 ohm or 1.5. Mine clocks in at 1.9 and at 3.3 V produces an acceptably good amount of vapor. A little better than a standard 2.2 ohm CE style clearo at the same voltage.

I can't find the direct thread on this forum (been lurking for awhile), but I remember reading about it here. Also the vv/vw near the base oficlear allowed me to realize that it stood for variable voltage.

It did produce a good amount of vapor, but not as much as my CE cartomizer. I did, however, like the warm vapor it produced.

Also, have you used your eGo batteries in the unregulated mode? If you click the button 5 times to turn the battery off, and then hold the button down for 7 seconds, you get an output of around 4 volts. You obviously have to click the battery 5 times to turn it back on. It prolly won't be good with your iCkear 30s, but until you upgrade, it's a pretty good option. I actually still take my ego c upgrade batteries to work.

 I'm a little confused now. Where do you see the vv/vw marking near the base of your iClear 16? Mine says "iClear" and "CE" next to a symbol that I think means "Don't chuck it in the garbage".

When I get home, I'll take a picture for you, it'll be in about 9-10 hours. I may just respond to this thread or PM you

It's not a big issue MarLoda. I would like to see a picture, but only to satisfy my curiosity, and it's possible that I won't see it until next week. I'm travelling at the weekend and don't know how frequently I'll be online. I am subscribed to this thread, though, so rest assured that if you do post a picture here, I will see it.

Here are the photos leoleoleo of the vv/vw

I took a look on google and can see some marked VV/VW while others do not and there doesn't seem to be any mention of the difference. Innokin says that the 2.0 ohm head is for use with VV/VW and 1.5 is for use with non-variable voltage. Perhaps this is the difference.

My suggestion: go for the mini nova as recommended by vapoor eyes er above and maybe also invest in a VV battery like a vision spinner or a twist, so you are prepared for almost all eventualities.
