I love vaping and sadly as it sits my first experiment with vaping came down the line of ol blu. Not hateing on anyone whom has tried blu or LOVES blu just.... I can not help to think that I am missing out on something better. Since I have been with blu for the past few weeks I have been loving it. Sadly a bit over a week ago I got the starter kit (just over A week ago now) of the new system with the spring loaded charge units to charge the packs and I have never been more disappointed in a 40 dollar investment. I also have been moving forward over the past week or so with the throw away units and I have been finding more n more of that "Burnt sock" taste and not alot of the flavor. It would also seem that I have to keep puffing on the units to get a good vape down. This being said I want to find something alot better then the norm that I have been stuck with. I can honestly say, after a few weeks of vaping on blu though and trying to go back to even one regular cig.... I can not bring myself to do it again. so with that being said I am in with vaping for the long haul and have been trying my best to get my fellow smokers to go ahead n move on over. Even a guitarist I know whom plays awesome has been wanting to move over. So any suggestions on what I should invest in? Any tips? I still have a whole pack of blu tips to use with the batteries but no batteries since the batteries wont work right. Heck I am not even sure if any of the batteries are making contact with the tips to make them work. yes I have tried dry starting the batteries to see if they would pick up again but none seem to be working even after a full night to even as far as a day n a half pack charge. (I am kind of getting fed up with blu at this point.) Sorry for the rant folks... just wanting to see what else was available. Thanks!:)

I have only been vaping for about a month now but I can tell you that most people would probably suggest dumping the Blu and going for an ego Twist with a cartomizer or clearomizer. My first e-cig trial was similar to yours, and I didn't care for it. I paid $30 for a cig-alike that you have to draw on real hard to get anything out of, and it was horrible. Then somebody gave me an ego-style tornado with a clearomizer and it was a world of difference. I stuck with it and am now moing up myself to a stronger set up because it improves the vaping experience. I was a chain smoker for over 10 years with a bad smokers cough and now I vape like a fiend but I don't cough and I passed up cigs that were right in front of me which was impossible before, so keep on trying it really is worth it.

there are many things available. im not sure what other batteries you could get that would fit the Blu's as i use the larger batteries and a APV (Advanced Personal Vaporizer). the only thing i miss from Blu is the Pina Colada flavor. if you still want to stay with the ciggarette shape/size im not sure and someone else will have to answer for that. if you are willing to try something a bit bigger (about a sharpie size) you can try an ego, with maybe a CE4, or get some 510 cartos to fill and use like you would your blu. the battery life will be more than the Blu with the biger batteries, and most are manual (push button to fire rather then auto when you puff) so you can get a little better control of how long its running for. i like to press the button about half a second before i puff so my coils have time to heat up and be fully working.

I LOVED Blu disposables. However, before I got a kit my roommate and I got on their online chat and asked if the kits vaped the same. They said NO. Disposables behave very differently than 2+-piece units.

So I went to Smokeless Image (which is 808's as opposed to 510's and hardly compatible with anything not on their site) and LOVED those for about 6 months. Second-best money I ever spent on vaping.

Then I discovered VV's, and never looked back. I suggest starting with a Spinner or two and 1 each Kanger MT3 and ViVi Nova, and a sample back of juices from somewhere, and go from there.

Now I use the Spinner for backup and a Gripper for normal vaping, but I don't mind looking like a geek at work or in public. Any woman who wears her badge and cell phone on her belt might as well use a box mod (which I put in a belt-hanging pocket I got from the Renaissance Faire which perfectly fits a Gripper.)

You should know that 808's are really nice BEGINNER e-cigs and 510's are the advanced ones with the most variety available, but you can get EITHER ONE at the beginner level. Blu's are 510. You cannot use 510 parts and 808 parts together without an adapter, one is an "innie" and one is an "outie"

Since you already paid for the Blu cartomizers (tips), I suggest getting an eGo 650 battery or two, an eGo charger, a pack of Boge LR (low resistance) 510 cartomizers, an eGo mega dual coil cartomizer (EMDCC), an eGo cone, a 510 drip tip, and a bottle of juice.

If you like the Blu tobacco flavor, then you may like Johnsons Creek JC Original or Mountain Oak Vapors Tennessee Original. Get some smaller sample bottles as well.

You can use your extra Blu tips on the eGo batteries. Do a search on how to properly fill a cartomizer. There are many different methods and they all work as long as you do your chosen method properly.

Sample your juices with the smaller Boge cartos and use the EMDCC for your all day juice choice.

This will be a good introduction to the possibilities of vaping, and you can move on from there.

The 650 eGo battery is really not much bigger than the Blu battery, but if you prefer the small cig-like stick, then substitute with a 510 battery and charger. You can get a much better working battery that will fire the Blu tips for less money than Blu charges for theirs.

Keep it simple to start with. There are a million opinions and they're all valid, but if you ask me, I'd start with something like THIS as your next step up from Blu. Good ol' 650 ego batteries with Evod clearomizers. Super easy to use, TONS more kick than the Blu, and under $20 with free shipping. You'll get about 5-6 hours use per charge from these and they'll last a long time.

You can use them with your Blu cartidges if you want, but I'd get some good juice & then you're good to go. Again, there are a million flavors and just as many opinions, but if you like a straight, cigarette-like tobacco flavor to start, I always recommend Tampa from Vaporstation.com. You won't go wrong with this, and you can go anywhere upwards from here, but this will knock the Blu out of the water and will still be a great backup if you upgrade to something more fancy later. I wouldn't even worry about variable voltage yet in your shoes, just load these up, vape & go. That's my 2 cents, anyway.

Congrats on making the big switch & happy vaping!! :vapor:

I'm going to have to be one of those people that says DUMP THE BLU. It is the least cost effective, the least flavorful, and the most irritating. If you are stuck on any of their flavors, Johnson Creek makes their juice and it is easily available.

An ego is always a good place to start, and make a small investment and upgrade the tank at least a little.

Welcome!

Well if Blu got you attention then the $$$ wasn't a total waste. But there have been a lot of complaints on ECF recently about the current Blu chargers arriving DOA or breaking in short order. We need to move you along before your frustration level gets too high.

In a very general sense the next logical step is eGo size batteries and clearos. eGo type batteries will give you longer (hassle free) run time and more consistent vaping than the "dropoff" Blu batteries do as you use them. Clearos, because they are easy to fill and maintain for a new user.

Specifically, I would recommend either an eGo Twist or Vision Spinner. Both offer variable voltage, allowing you to tweak your overall experience and tune everything to the liquid and the device attached to the battery. They look like these: https://www.cignot.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=twist

And Kanger T3s or MT3s bottom coil clearomizers to go with. Easy to fill, replaceable parts, if they have liquid in them they just work. One fill can last you up to 24 hours, depending on how much you vape. And those would be these: https://www.cignot.com/product_p/msc-kt3-clc.htm

Just to give you an idea of where you are heading. Looks big and scary? They always look bigger in the web photos than they really are. But if you want to get past the frustration with cigalike stuff this is where you will be heading.

Hope this helps!

Dump the Blu's and chalk it up as a start and a learning experience....and go with the ego and never look back..this will be the best $24 investment U ever made... $24.99 EGO-CE4S 6-in-1 Variable Voltage Rechargeable 1100mAh E-Cigarettes Set with 0.55" Screen - double e-cigarettes / 2.4

2 1100a variable voltage batterys...2 CE5's with replaceable heating coils...2 chargers AC/USB...1 bottle with needle tip...1 carrying case

and later U can always use any other clearomizers tanks on those 1100 batteries, if U decide to try another clearomizer other than those with this kit.....

I would love to side with Xenu because I use a similar setup, but FastTech's evod clones don't have a good reputation. You would probably be better off with the kit recommended by szot. You can always add a 5-pack of disposable ce4 clearomizers for about $5. And don't forget the juice...Dekang, Hangsen, or Liqua. Do NOT get the unbranded/generic stuff regardless of the price.

what everyone else said...go to an ego twist setup. From there step up again if you feel the need. The key with the ego is to find flavors that you like...check out the board...check out ahlusion (if your lucky enough to hit there site when they are taking new customers), Halo, NiteLightVapes, and Ms. T's juice. There are other very good vendors that im leaving out...top of the head here. Point being, if you get a half decent setup (ego twist) and combine that with a good juice...man it is heaven. Your taste buds will explode and those cravings for the analogues will go away.
