I ordered my 510 kit on 11 april and it arrived 3 days later as expected. After giving the batteries a good charge, I've been vaping non stop for 2 weeks. I haven't bought a pack of cigs for 20 days and already I've noticed some huge improvements in my sense of smell, etc. I've been a 1.5-2 pack a day smoker for about 12 years and as soon as I received my 510 I haven't had a single craving. I've also noticed I feel more relaxed than with real cigs, certainly a plus! I ordered 8 small bottles of different menthol juices to find something like what I was used to. wasn't really impressed with any of them, though I noticed a few of them weren't menthol at all.. more sweet and with a licorice taste to them which it turns out I really enjoyed. as a result, this has encouraged me to experiment further with other liquid flavors which I just ordered.
2 weeks in and I just ordered an eGo PT, some extra attys (now I have 9) an extra 510 battery, drip tip, extra whistle tips, and a couple cartos to give them a try. (My first e-cig was 2 years ago from a gas station.. 'Fuma' it was called. it had a carto setup and I quit smoking for 2 weeks with that. but $15 for 3 cartos that didn't last even a full day got expensive so I went back to analogs until I got my 510) I also ordered 25 bottles of differently flavored liquid. maybe I'll find something I really like. though so far my favorite is Black Ice that I got from cignot. no throat hit on standard 510 setup but it's a great smooth flavor. I just ordered an 18.5 ml bottle of that for my morning vape. we'll see.
I'm excited to get my PT as I am literally constantly charging my batteries and twice now I have found myself with 2 completely dead batteries and have smoked a couple analogs because of that. I will tell ya this.. short of running out of liquid or battery power, it's hard to go back to analogs even after only 2 weeks with my 510.. they taste terrible!
I'm still learning.. I need to perfect my 'technique' as I'm unsure if the way I use my PV is incorrect. I just have a really hard time giving it a break in between each puff. I usually hit it 2-3 times and give it a break for a couple mins. I'm not sure if this is bad for the atty or not. with the PT, I've gotta read on the forum some more and make sure I'm not gonna break anything :)
best I can figure, I'm using about 3ml of liquid per day, so the order I just placed will get me through the next 6 weeks. I'm happy about that, as I've only spent a fraction of what I would spend on cigs for that same length of time. and while I've put much more into the hardware so far, it's definitely an investment that I'm happy I made. I was thinking of giving the tank systems a try next after I do a bit more learning..
I would consider myself a heavy vaper, as I haven't been able to put my 510 down for more than a few mins at a time.. it really is like a pacifier for me but it's for a good cause, right?
One more thing before I end this very long post: I have a son who is turning 6 in 2 weeks. the day he was born I promised him I would quit smoking. I've tried several times and many methods (chantix, patch, e-cig, etc) and have quit for weeks and months at a time. but so far, vaping with the 510.. well, my boy is so proud of me for not smoking and he's excited about all the money I'm saving so I can buy him more toys :) this may just be the best decision I've made in a long time!

Re hitting it alot - I usually use cartomizers (Boge 510 soft caps, and standard resistance is what you need for slim 510s). They have limited lifespans anyway - I fill one well (at least 18 drops), clean it up, let it lay for 15-20 mins on different sides to distribute the liquid to all stuffing, and keep it damp and I can usually get a least a week of use out of a Boge. I usually have several filled with different flavors.

I just use atomizers for dripping. I recommend manual 510 batteries for both dripping on an atty and for cartos because if wither leaks on the end of the battery you could damage or kill an auto battery much more easily. 510 manuals are totally sealed on the end.

I make myself sit the ecig down. At home I often leave the ecigs in another room to moderate my vaping. At work they are on my desk and I just set them down.

I agree - I totally believe the PT was a good investment. I just wish I'd have ordered it sooner, since it probably won't arrive until tomorrow and I'm impatient for my new toys!

@dormouse - I only use manual batteries so far. though I was thinking of getting just one auto battery for when I'm in the car.. I can't seem to hold the manual batteries right while I'm driving so I can hit the button easily. haven't ordered it yet. my brother has a couple auto batteries and so far I haven't been impressed with them they activate a lot. but he may have ruined them already (they're a week old) because he's really bad about overfilling carts. I just had to clean all his equipment the other day after I noticed all the extra juice in the attys/batteries.

I think I drip more often than anything else. I'm getting a couple cartos in tomorrow so I can see how those work for me. carts are a bit of a pain to keep filled but I've been able to get good use from them while I'm out with people. but just in case I always carry my PCC with extra batt, atty, and 2 filled carts plus a bottle of liquid just in case. I don't have a drip tip yet (arrives tomorrow!) so I've been using an empty/blank whistle tip cart I got with my original kit. looking forward to my tip so I won't have to fuss with removing it every couple hits.

anyone use the 510-t or ego-t? I'm curious about the tank systems whether they last super long and are messy.. and atty life, etc. I almost ordered an atty and tank for the ego PT but decided to stick with the 9 510 attys I already have for now. I think I'm going to order a 510-t kit next time and see what happens

Have had ego-t for over 3 months, I buy 2 ego-t attys at a time and rotate them every other day. I have been going through 2 atty's per month- between 30 and 32days, thats about $30 a month for atties. Have had no problem with leaking carts hold up great. taste and flavor are definetly muted, didn't really realize this until I started dripping, just recently on a 510 atty from an ego. The difference in taste and flavor is amazing. I am going to go to a bottom feed system next. Ego-t is a good system served its purpose great but time to move on. I'm hoping that bottom feed system tastes like dripping.

@Coldchill - thanks for your input. now I can justify getting a 510-t setup :D

I gotta say this, guys: my eGo pt came in yesterday and I am in love with this thing. no dead batteries.. I bought cartos so I could try them out but honestly I took the eGo out of the box, hooked it to my laptop and dripped all day long. WOW! no recharging of batteries whatsoever. I did end up unplugging it from usb around 4pm and only just now plugged it back in and the battery definitely didn't need recharging. 3 weeks ago, I said the 510 was my greatest investment ever.. now I say this eGo pt is the greatest investment ever. I honestly don't see myself going back to analogs now that I have a couple great devices and plenty of batteries to get me through the toughest situations.

I did throw one of the cartos on my 510 battery and used that on and off through the day when I needed a menthol fix. overall, still very happy with my latest order!

I keep messing up, tho. I order a lot of flavors at a time as I'm still trying to find what I like best. 26 flavors this time around (and dummy me I forgot to order some menthol as backup) I worked my way through about 7 of the flavors before realizing my mistake. so I have packed away all but 4 flavors now and I'm just gonna stick with these for a few days.

right now I'm vaping cappuccino with my first pot of coffee. goes well together. I'm happy about that since I really haven't heard many good reviews of cappuccino flavored liquids. I bought several different coffee flavors so you know I'm determined to have that work for me :D

one last thing that has me very excited: I ordered one flavor.. just for fun, I really didn't think I'd like it. figured I'd use it when I was showing off my pvs. it's some weird fruit mix, and when I tried it yesterday - it's definitely my new FAVORITE! which opened up a whole new world of vaping for me, as I wasn't really thinking I'd enjoy fruit flavors or strong flavors.. basically anything other than menthol/tobacco. but now I can't wait for my next batch of sample flavors to test drive!

MY e-cig has an adapter for the usb charger that fits into the car lighter. But what is this ego pt thing you guys are referring to that you have no dead batteries?
I am very new to this I am Canadian and live in northern Ontario and they just got her a couple months ago and I finally found somewhere to buy them.
I heard they where here but could not find a place to buy them I have a q cig and one called an e-cig the q cig is supposedly a trial one it says that it can only be recharged 3 to 5 times but it has lasted much longer my friend said and he just uses liquid to refill the sponge but I don't like the way that one tastes but was thinking that maybe part of that taste will die when the sponge gets used but not sure. The other one came with 10 disposable filter type things that I can't seem to find anywhere so I am refilling those as well all I could find online that was close was disposable prefilled atomizer type filters.I am having a hard time swapping straight to the e-cig and find myself smoking it more then I ever smoked cigs being a pack to 2 packs a day at times depending what I am doing but find my self having a hard time putting the e-cig down and knowing when I should stop even found myself a couple times putting it down and smoking a real cig.
I really want to quit smoking have wanted to for a long time...
I have tried everything and now this so I hope I can at least get of the real crap and learn to smoke the e-cig.

Congrats on the change. I had the ego for about a month and then went to the Silver Bullet. 1500mah at 3.7v batteries that last me all day. I never have to use my extra battery (which I carry with me just in case). I would recommend this do to vapor production which is very nice and the battery life of course is one to be very excited about!

Keep vaping man!

@Gat - a passthru is a device that you hook directly to a usb port (or a usb ac adapter) and can use while it's charging. therefore, no dead batteries. I opted for the eGo because currently I only buy hardware from cignot and this was the only one they stock. there are 510 pt's available as well which are the same size as regular 510 batteries (I think) currently trying to talk my brother into getting one of those.. it seems they are 5v and my eGo PT is 3.7v so I'm curious what the difference between the 2 will be.

Let us know how the eGo-t works for you. I started off a week ago with the 510-t and it has been fine, though my lifestyle is such that I am seldom away from electricity and thus the short battery life has not been a problem (plus I bought a PCC, so I'm pretty much covered for anything.)

And good on your for doing this for your kid!

thanks. my boy is quite proud of me. in fact, over dinner with my brother and his family tonight my son made clear how happy he was that daddy smokes a fake cigarette now and not deadly real ones. hey, it's a start and not a moment too soon. he'll be 6 in a week!

I've decided that I'm going to go with the 510-t first as I hear from people on the forums the flavor is better compared to the ego-t. that said, I'm ordering an atty and tanks for the ego as well just so I can see for myself what *I* like. I'm thinking I'll go with the 510 in the long run just for the fact that I understand it works with standard 510 batteries and pcc (which I already have so it makes sense)

Not much I can say about your post but way to go. As for the now disgusting taste of analog cigarettes, you are experiencing the joyful discovery of what quiting analog cigarettes brings. I agree, analog tastes like you just licked a dirty ashtray. As for constantly charging your batteries, are you talking about your 510? I ask as I've heard that one of the benefits of an ego is it's long battery life. Trust me, enough batteries, juice and accessories and you'll never need to go back to analog.

well so far I've got 3 standard 510 batteries (manual) and my eGo PT. about 15 carts, a drip tip, couple cartos, and currently around 120ml of liquid (though I'm getting ready to order more liquid, cartos, and a couple more drip tips, and a tank upgrade for my 510) aside from finding a couple flavors of juice I can't stand, I think I've found my current mainstays. joye cappuccino in the morning, dk-tab all day long after that. I'm out of dk-tab right now and having trouble finding it in stock anywhere. guess I'm not the only one who has this on their must-have list. :( still searching for a good menthol I can switch off to from the dk-tab so I don't get tired of it.

congrats! I too just got my pv delivered yesterday morning. I had a few analogues but ended up giving the remainder of the pack to a friend at work. just zero interest after one full day of pving. I enjoy the cleaner feeling. I have a basic manual 510 and also ordered an ego-t coming next week. Couldn't make up my mind :) I've really wanted to quit for a long time, this seems to work perfectly. Good luck!!

thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I'm proud to say that it's been almost a full month since I started this. I've smoked maybe a full pack of analogs starting from the time I unboxed my first 510 set (and most of those were the first day while waiting for batteries to charge) the best thing I can report is that even though I did smoke them, I only did it cuz they were here and I wanted to give my attys a break. really, not one craving. though twice now while I was drinking I've felt like the 510 isn't doing it for me. both times I've wanted a cig, neither time have I actually went and got one. I think I've finally made it through my current stash of liquid taste-testing and I've found what's currently working for me. I just need to order more, as I'm out of the liquid I plan to use full time. I'm also upgrading to the 510-t so I'm excited to see if that works any better for me. I'm happy with my current cart mod, but now that I've been dripping for most of the past month I'm noticing that odd taste everyone talks about. I imaging a tank system is about the same as dripping. very much looking forward to that.

the bad news: I have discovered quite a few liquids that I don't like. in fact, 14 of the last 26 flavors I ordered are stored away. the rest I'm either tolerating or still deciding if I like. and all this from just one vendor. I guess it's time to spread my wings and try some of the other suppliers now..
