Hi Everyone
Just started vaping a week ago and loving it so far, but need some advice as theres so much stuff on the market i dont know where to start.
Went in a vape shop last week and got a ego spinner 900, and it ok so far but doesnt tend to last me that long as i was quite a heavy smoker so am vaping at full wattage on it and only getting half a day out of it.

So im just wondering if any of you guys can help me with the following......
wat i was looking for is a battery that lasts longer but not to big like some of them are, with variable control that will give loads of vapour and a really good throat hit.
does the head where the oil goes make a difference to the amount of vapour and throat hit.
and also does the juice make a difference in the same way.
i did go into asda to and bought the vivid set up just as a back up till i can find some vape shops in my area, but i find its not enough of a hit for me and i dont like the liquid......i was wanting as close to tobacco tasting as possible, i know you cant realy get this, but ive heard people saying that some seem more authentic than others.

my set up at the mo is the ego spinner 900
xo rryy44 3.6 tobacco
xo rryy44 2.4 tobacco
Ce4 ego clearomiser

Hi and welcome. I'm new here as well but I have been vaping for a couple of months now.

I too wanted to duplicate the tobacco flavour when I started, but now I am finding that I like it less and now I lean more to Vanilla or citrus flavours. Also what is the strength of the juice you are using? I started on 12mg but quickly moved up to 18mg.

Basically if you want a battery that lasts longer it is going to need to be bigger, this is an unavoidable fact. The other thing I recommend is to have a second battery and and atomizer. Combined it will help you get thru the day and you can also experiment with different flavours.

Also with twist batteries you need to adjust the voltage to match the Ohm of the atomizer coil to get the best flavour and refill the tank before it runs out. This avoids killing the coil and resulting burnt metallic taste.

Hello, and Welcome to ECF :)

A 900mAh hour eGo isn't going to do the job, and a CE4 clearomiser is pretty old tech and low performance.

Did your shop have a "brand name" to it (Totally Wicked, Liberty Flights, etc.) or was it independent?

There is no e-liquid that tasted like a cigarette, but there are some very nice tasting liquid called 'tobacco' if you can find one you like. I like to think of 'tobacco' as tobacco-style, you know, a bit smokey and a little like fresh rolling baccy.

This week, I've been vaping 3 tobacco liquids from the one pound e-liquid company. They were £1. (no surprise).

You might well need a serious hardware upgrade. If your shop recommended 36mg liquid, they must consider you a serious smoker and have sold you a kit for middle-of-the-road smokers, in all honesty.

Ask away. :)

This is the resistance of your coils in comparison to the voltage of your battery, generally the voltage is set 2.+ whatever the oHm of your coil is whether it be 1.8, 2.2, 3.5 ... and so on :) Many clearo's do not have replaceable heads tho'

Hi, started out the same way.
Tried various tobacco flavors and even mix a few diff ones together.
Currently using 12 & 18nic or get 36 and mix it to you like with a none nic flavor.
TMax regulated mod uses 18650 or 18350 batteries that last a heavy smoker all day.
    Im using Panasonic 2900mAh batteries.
Have three protanks, all work great.
Also I buy in small bulks in replacement coils.
Averages out to eighty cents each.
They last a long time and I smoke like a train.
Only been vapping a few months and love it & dont smoke ciggs anymore.
Smoked ciggs for over thirtyfive yrs.
Recently purchased a mech mod,Nemesis and four 18650 30a batteries.
Got a 454 big block dripper tank.
Invested in a ohms and voltage meter.
Building my our coils is fun.
Everything arrived except the 30A batteries.
Tried it out using 10A, doest work that great running 0.64ohms.
Another thing I didnt like was the big oppening on the tip of my 454 tank.
Too much air while trying to draw vape.
Hoping the 30A will resolve that or may get a tip with a smaller hole.
Tobacco flavor is what I vape, just trying out the 454.
So much out there to be had.
One of the real reasons I wanted to try mech mod, so that I can build my own coils and use fresh cotton when needed.
    More affordable and better taste.
Also I got 24g coil wire, should have gotten the 28g to start out with.
Just starting out and waisting money and time.
It adds up quick, Tmax is affordable, panasonic batteries are great.
Protanks and coils are cheap to buy.
Good vapping, all yeah need is a flavor you like.
Oh, battery charger I went with a Nitecore.
Good luck to you, for me the search is on, though what I have seem to work.

    Thanks for the reply.
I smoke about 20 to 30 a day, the shop was just new and called vape in rushden and they are using liberty flights products.
Just dont find that the throat hit is quite enough out of the 18 mg juice or the vapour amount, so thought if i upgraded to something better i might get more of that on a 18mg juice :0)

I'll keep it short...eGo One kit, get this and you'll probaly need to lower your nic levels.
The flavour will change too at 0.5ohm. Bought 2 of these in the last couple weeks for newbs and a tank for myself, along with a couple of samsung 25r batteries to use on a mech mod I already had.

    It's a game changer and it's new.
A lot of us did quit on the type of set-up you have but it is 2 year old kit.
Shops do need to move their old inventory too eh. Cheers.

EDIT...Get the large version if you go this route, bigger tank bigger battery.

    1: battery that lasts longer.
The standard type batteries used are the 18650 batteries (18mm diameter, 65 mm long), in a tube or box of some sort.

2: does the head where the eliquid go make a difference to the amount of vapour and throat hit.
Yes. And a whole lot of other things. The head is perhaps the most critical part; merely rewicking your head with cotton will make a dramatic difference.

3: does the juice make a difference.
Yes. More vg makes more cloud. More nicotine makes more throat hit.

As daleron said it is the resistance of the coil. If you search around the forum you will find some pretty precise descriptions of the relationship between Volts, Ohms and Watts. Basically with lower Ohm coils you get more vapour and consequently more nicotine. As I have moved to better atomizers with lower resistance I have lowered the amount of nicotine in my juice.

I bought a Kanger Subtank mini yesterday, running a 1.2 ohm coil in it on a iStick 30W bettery with 9 mg juice and I'm loving it. I also bought and Ego One with a 0.5 ohm coil and i'm finding the throat hit too much with 9 mg juice.

I would suggest you go with a VV/VW battery like the iStick 30W as you will be able to adjust your vape to suit your needs.

Thanks alot everyone for the replies.
Cant believe how much help and support you get on here, as vaping is quite confusing when you first start.
Going to look up what everyone has suggested so far, and please keep the advice coming, its fab

    Good for you.

I feared your shop was a Liberty Flights shop. Liberty Flights used to be a mainstay shop for many vapers (purchasing online) but they got greedy with the prices and started overcharging with one hand, but offering 20% discounts and stuff to facebook users.
You are going to need a regular supply of liquid and atomizer heads, unless you get into rebuilding. If you decide to support your local shop, go for it :)

Once you get into online, Liberty Flights and Totally Wicked are not worth shopping at. We have a Totally Wicked, and I go in there now and again.

    Online, I use Myepack

    Myepack.co.uk

    one pound e-liquid

All the advice has been brilliant.
Ive joined forums for lots of different things in the past and found alot of long time members complaining constantly that newbies posts are the same thing over and over...but not on here at all...everyone has been so friendly and welcoming its lovely
I also wanted to ask on the ego spinner 900 when u turn it up fully to vape....r u taking in more nicotine than at the smallest setting, sorry if i sound stupid but i really dont no much about vaping right now, and theres millions of posts on here to try and search through to find answers.
Also can anyone tell me a good reputable e juice company to buy from.
And also where is the best place to buy batteries etc...online or on the high street ??? , i live in county durham/ newcastle uk area
    Thanks

    Hi, Donkeyfishcow, Welcome to ECF!

djsvapour is our resident expert on the best places to shop in the UK, so check out the places he recommends. There is also a UK-specific forum here:
    UK Forum

With a lower-resistance coil, you will tend to use more e-liquid. Likewise, if you turn the voltage up higher, you will use more. However, the CE4's are pretty limited in how much they can go through, and will taste burnt if you crank them up too high. I find that BCC type heads are much much better in terms of performance.

If you get a mod that takes replaceable batteries, it's very important that you get them from a good supplier. There are many batteries out there that will not perform to their advertized specifications!!!

But either an istick or an MVP are excellent upgrades from your current setup (and both have internal batteries, so you don't need to worry about batteries, chargers, etc).

Also, you should take a look at FastTech. Stuff will take several weeks to get to you (probably longer this time of year because their new year starts Feb 15, and the whole country disappears for a week and everything backs up). But for easy-to-use, inexpensive, good performing heads, the H2's are great, IMHO. Like these:
    $11.32 H2 Bottom Coil Clearomizers (10-Pack / 2.0mL) 10-pack - 2.5ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Welcome to ECF! There's no stupid questions here (although occasionally you'll get stupid answers!) Now get off my lawn, you dumb newbie! ;-)

    within my own thoughts....
Hi and welcome to ECF. I've only been vaping for a few weeks and i started out on a tobacco ejuice that was recommended to me and it's already my all day vape. So just thought i would share what i absolutely am in love with and maybe you can try it and see what you think. It's by Uncle Junk's and it's called Jon Wayne (has a smooth vanilla/carmel flavor). Also, RY4 is very popular, so you may want to try it. If you have a local vape shop that lets you taste test the juices, i would highly suggest giving it a taste. I've yet to find another ejuice that can even come close to it, however....it's quite expensive and i'm eventually going to give DIY a shot to save money so i can invest the $$'s in hardware instead.

I started out on an Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0 and i love it. It lasts me all day without having to charge and i just recently purchased an Aspire Nautilus Mini tank and it truly is worth the $ because it gives your ejuices a better taste...at least it has for me. Lastly, i started out on 24mg of nicotine in my juices because i was a heavy smoker and enjoy the throat hit and the nicotine level has a lot to do with throat hit as well as PG level of your juices. I bought some 18mg, but wasn't getting the nicotine i needed to start out on nor the throat hit, so i will stick to 24mg until i'm comfortable with diminishing down a notch....one day at a time! :)

    Just my 2 cents.....
