New to Vaping - Got some terminology Q's!

Oh boy I don't know what to ask. I first have to ask why there's a slight burning taste after 1-2 drags (but is fixed after a short time, but again, only for those drags). But I'd also like to know what all the parts do. Not in detail, but for me to be able to read a thread or talk about it and finally understand what's actually giving me the vape I'm getting!

Thanks by the way!

Hi!

The issue with a CE4 clearo is the coil producing your vapor is at the top and the liquid is down at the bottom. If it's the type that has short wicks on it you have to keep tilting and turning it to keep the wick and coil saturated. Even if it has long wicks - it's still the same problem.

If you are already tipping it a lot and still get dry hits like that you may need to back off a bit if you are taking long hits off the thing. You may simply be running the wick and coil dry if you drag on it too long. CE4's are kinda limited in this way and you need to play with the tilting to keep the coil saturated and make sure you aren't running the coil dry by dragging too long.

I started out on the iclear16 clearomiser which pretty similar to ce4 except has dual coils. I experienced much the same problems as OP, with dry hits when taking long drags.

This was exaggerated when; the juice was a thicker VG, and with 1.5ohm coil heads.

Can't be avoided its the nature of the design. To minimize though use a thinner juice, and take several shorter drags.

I've since upgraded to rba tanks, kayfun and fogger v4.

I am looking at afew ce4 size tanks to use with the ego batts I have, they all seem to have their own issues, the protank 3 or aerotank are ones I'm considering..

Vaping on an e-cigarette is a little different from smoking a tobacco cigarette.

A long, gentle draw into the mouth works best both for you and the e-cigarette. A hard draw will force too much e-liquid to the tiny coils in the tank; too much liquid that it can't all be vaporized. The remainder will remain in the air chamber, to be either sucked into your mouth or fall onto the top of the battery.

Most of the nicotine in vapor is absorbed in the mouth, throat, and nose' not so much in the lungs. Different size of molecule. Therefore, inhale and hold in your mouth a second. This will allow maximum absorbtion of the nicotine, and allow the vapor time to cool before you inhale it into your lungs. Exhale both from your mouth and nose for more absorption and allow your sense of smell assist your tongue in experiencing the flavor.

The way I started learning was reading the interesting threads. At the start it was all a big confusion and I had no idea of what questions to ask. Before too long I would read the first post in a thread and go I now the answer to that one. Don't feel a fool to ask questions cause at one time all of us here knew nothing about vaping.

Oh, and welcome.

Oh yeah, I wasn't too sure since my first puff would be average, and if I got a second it would feel like the liquid was actually on my tounge. Maybe I just need to stop being a wuss aha.

Thanks for the advice :)

Nah - you is fine. When you are smoking your technology is limited to "stuff that burns" and "a match." You have a lot more technology going on here and it just takes a little more figuring out.

Since you say your first drag is ok but you seem to be getting liquid on the second one... I'm betting you are drawing too hard or too long. Or maybe a bit of both. A read through this may be of help. => http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html
