So, I just got my new iTaste MVP 2.0 in the mail yesterday and I've been vaping since I got it, I tried smoking a cigarette and I got a few puffs in and just couldn't continue and tossed it! Anyway that's besides the point, I have some "fresh to the vape" beginner questions.

First and most importantly

I have been having trouble with coughing a bit when i use my e-cigarette and i don't know why. is it because i just started and my body is adjusting? Am i doing something wrong? Is there something wrong with my new E-cig? i have noticed that there is a ton of throat hit to my juice, do i need a lower strength? I am using 18mg vanilla.

So e-cigarette forum.... What do?

Welcome to ecf. Congrats on making the switch.

You need to increase your liquid intake. Vaping will dry you out big time. Sounds like your 18mg vanilla is made from pg so the nic content isn't adding that much (but a little) to the throat hit. If you want an immediate fix, you can buy some vg from walmart(in the pharmacy area) and put a few drops in your bottle and shake. This will help to smooth the hit for you. You can try one drop at a time and test it. You can always add more, but once it is in there you can't take it away. It won't reduce your nic level enough to notice it.
Make sure the vg says USP. Some of them also say food grade. Both are the same.
Let us know how it goes.

Had the same problem when I first started. I was inhaling all of it, just like a cigarette. After visiting this site, I saw the same link that you did and while I didn't switch it up immediately, I slowly started to inhale less and less and now pretty much just hold the vapor in my mouth and exhale a little bit at a time through my nose. After about four or five seconds, I inhale a little bit and then exhale all of it. That seems to work better for delivering the nicotine too.

A few weeks ago, I thought I was getting a cold, so I started not inhaling at all and just holding the vapor in my mouth and exhaling a little at a time out of my nose (to keep the cold from going to my chest). I did that for a day or two and voilla, I was shocked to find that the nicotine was still being delivered, and even more so than before. At first, it seemed weird to not inhale all of it as that's what I had been doing for so many years. After that experience though, it finally hit home and now I barely inhale at all.
