Ok so I've been vaping for a week and started out with the Kanger Evod 2 Starter Kit. So far I think it's really awesome, but I do have some issues. 1.) the tank is too small and requires filling about 3x's a day and 2.) I'd really like a stronger vape. SO, I've already bought an Aerotank Mega with the variable air flow valve. Now here's where I could use your advice-I'm stuck on which battery to get. I like the twist battery concept of variable voltage, but it gets so confusing with the mAh's and all the technical lingo that I don't understand what it means. What's the difference between the ego Twist and the C Twist? What's the difference between 900 and 1500? I don't need/want anything fancy schmancy, but one that I can be satisfied with. Thanks in advance :)

The mah number is the battery's capacity. The higher the number, the longer your battery will last between recharges. That's really all you need to know. :)

And of course the twist batteries have a voltage setting. The higher the voltage, the warmer and denser your vapor will be, though this will depend on the coil you're using.

Welcome :)

You did start with a good kit. Depending on what you like holding in your hand, I'm going to throw a different mod at you. Take a look at the MVP2 (101vapes.com or strictlyecig.com). Couple reasons - 1) the stick-type battery may be a little imbalanced with a larger tank like the Aerotank Mega. (would kinda look like Seattle's Space Needle?) 2) Battery life. 3), it's variable voltage or variable wattage - once you find the setting you like, you can pretty much slap a tank on and keep vaping or you get some "flexibility" to play with.

Your question about "maH" - basically this is an indication of how long the battery could last between charges. I'm not real fancy with the math and I can't tell you how long any one particular battery will last because you vape differently than I or anyone else does. But, the basic difference between a 900 and a 1500 is that the 1500 should last almost twice as long as the 900 (1500/900 = 1.67) Looking at the MVP, it's a 2600 maH battery and therefore should last almost 3 times longer than the 900.

All this being said, the MVP is a box-style mod. It is a bit heavy, especially compared to the EVODS, but it's got great battery life, it's a "pass-through" which means you could have it plugged in and charging WHILE you're vaping, and you can use is to charge other devices (like your cell phone) with its output function.

Enjoy the vape :vapor:

The mega aerotank has dual coils in it. I tried my aerotank on a vision spinner2. More than likely this style of mod isnt going to work well with the dual coils. You should probly go with something like the mvp mentioned above or a different pen style mod with replaceable batteries so you dont have to wait for it to charge. You may not like the dual coils in your aerotank. (I didnt) You can use single coils in it as well Im not sure about the mega but the regular aerotank I use protank 2 single coils in them. I just build them to a lower ohm and wick with cotton. I like a cool vape with alot of taste and this works for me. Just something you might want to keep in mind.

Ok here comes the confusion again, ahhhh! Lol I def want a pen style, variable, rechargeable. As a chick I just can't see me holding a flask looking thing or a grenade lol. Besides I would have no where to put it. I figure with the two Evod 2's will be plenty while my "good battery" charges.

With an Aerotank Mega you're not going to escape having to use thicker tube-style mods, really. Or indeed those 'flask looking things'. I have a Spinner II and it performs great, but with an Aerotank Mega on top it would be really top heavy and look odd. If you really want to stick with the pen-styles, you're better off with a plain Aerotank and that's still a 1 milliliter bump in capacity over your EVOD. May not sound like much, but I already find it so much better than my Mini Protank 3 which held 1.5 ml.

The Inokin VV3 is the little sister to the MVP and is a 800 mah stick battery. But you will drain it fast with the dual coils. The bigger round mods all have replaceable batteries (vamo et. al.) and are much bigger than the mvp. If you want to run a big dual coil tank then you are going to need a bigger mod to do it with or you will drain them quick.

VV (variable voltage) and VW (Variable wattage) are to ways of achieving the same thing, controlling the power to the coil. In VV you change the voltage yourself and in VW the device detects the resistance of the topper and changes the voltage to achieve a set wattage. Think standard Vs. automatic.

Spinner is both 510 and ego threaded as are many but certainly not all devices.

Spinner is 510 thread? Are all vv/vw "mods". None made directly by the battery makers? Btw, what's the difference between vv/vw?

We call them mods, but in most cases they're just off-the-shelf products. It has a bit of a history with them starting out as actual devices people themselves made, but it didn't take look for mass-production to take over. The term simply stayed.

Variable wattage controls the power output of the device. If you for example put it to 11 watts, the voltage gets adjusted accordingly depending on which tank you place on top of it. So whether you place a tank on it with a 2.5 ohm coil, or one with a 1.5 coil, it doesn't matter. The power output is always the same and so the vape will be too, generally speaking. Variable Wattage is easier to manage than Variable Voltage. Just set it and forget it, basically.

Both the VV3 and the MVP are great units for the beginner.

They have very efficient battery circuitry and they last longer then there Mah rating due to efficiency.

The MVP is great for a weekend camping or for those who always forget to change batteries. It'll last a good 3 days without re-charging. Some don't like the box shape.

In that case the VV3 is a very good unit.

Both have fantastic filters or Voltage stabilization mechanism and you will receive a Provari Quality vape in the parameters that the units will work in.

A huge caveat is both are re-chargeable with a standard Micro USB charger/jack. And both if not fully discharged will work in a pass through mode. [Vape While Charging]

Do you think walking around with something like this is going to be any easier? People wont think it is a flask in your purse any way

I just found the Vision Spinner II, 1600mAh. How do you think this would perform with the Aerotank Mega?

You are still going to have a skinny stick with a big ole device on the top and it is still going to be really top heavy like a mallet. What you want is for your device and your topper to be about the same diameter. Think about how big around you will have to go to get that. That is why we are saying you are not going to be happy with an ego (stick) style battery. You either need something like the vamo I posted above or a flask.

And I don't carry purses :p

You walk around with a vamo in your front pocket and people are really going to have some questions. If I were a woman I would rather be known as a nipper hitting her flask.

And did I read that right? I have to match the coil ohms to the battery voltage or wattage? This just gets more and more complicated :/

You have to match your device voltage to your coils resistance. The device is the variable one that you can change.

Edit: Vaping is not as easy as smoking. Plain and simple. But believe all of us when we say it is worth it to put those stinkies behind. It takes more work and organization but it is really only as complicated as you want to make it. You are now trying to "tweek" your vape with a more specialized device. So now you need a more specialized topper. Your making it a little more complicated. Soon, that won't be enough and you will need a shinier one and a purple one. And you'll have to have those neat drip tips to match. And your juice won't be quite right so you will start DIYing your own. And then.........oh honey, just hide your credit card now!
